PM5 firmware update - no longer updates phone via BTooth

Morning all

I've a Concept2 model D with PM5. Purchased (from new) about 2 months ago..
No issues since I've had it - on connecting to my phone with Bluetooth and starting the ERGData App, it would say "Ready to Row" at the bottom of the screen.. As soon as I start rowing, my phone was updated with the live workout info..

However, I flashed the newest firmware using the Utility yesterday. All went well. No issues during update.
This morning, I connected to my phone - it connected fine - using Bluetooth from the PM5.
Instead of 'ready to row' it now says 'connected to ERG'..
When I start rowing, it doesn't update the phone. The ERGData App seems to do nothing..

Am I missing a step here? Anything else I need to do please? :shock:

Try turning off wireless (on the PM5) off and on again? One new feature on the new firmware is that wireless now remembers the previous state instead of having to be turned on every time.

Thankfully, after a quick email or two from the support team, a restart of the phone fixed the problem!

Is that all it took .. restarting the phone? I'm also running into this issue after the 161 update. IOS Ergdata Main screen updates, the 2nd screen does not, and the workout never gets to the phone to sync.

Got the same problem. Filed bug report. Phone restart didn't work for me unfortunately.

Now got it working after using an old ipad that never was paired with PM5. I tried painsled first, with cable. This worked. Was happy. Tried with bluetooth on ipad, worked as well. Then tried ergdata. Worked also, to my surprise. Then i tried my phone again, and miraculously the phone that didn't work at all before worked again.

So might be worth to try pairing another device, see if it works, and then see if the original device works again. Bit of a hassle, but i'm glad my setup works again after trying many times in the last few days.

I am having this same problem using a Samsung 8s and my Rowing machine. Oddly enough I am not having this problem with my SkiErg which was also flashed to the latest version at the same time. No issues prior to the flash of both the rower and skierg. Very frustrating. I have not only restarted the phone, which didn't fix the issue, but I also uninstalled the app and restarted the phone and then installed the app. Same problem.

I have to say, even before this current issue, I have not been impressed with the app. Getting the PM5 to recognize my Garmin heart monitor is slow and not consistent and getting it to connect to the app has always been slow and hit and miss. As a comparison, my Garmin on my road bike if I even get close to it with a heart monitor it auto connects without me having to press a single button. It is fast, easy and always connects.

I enjoy both my rower and the ski erg and wish I could say the same about the PM5 and the app. Please invest some resources to bring both of these up to the quality of the ergs. In the meantime, please fix this problem quickly.

the PM5 auto connects to ergdata with 161. I was able to save the HRM if a usb drive is inserted (formatted via c2 utility). So now, once the PM5 turns on, everything connects

I updated the firmware on my rower and skierg PM5 with a USB cable and my laptop. As mentioned in my original post no issues connecting the HRM and Samsung S8 to the SkiErg. However, can not connect both of these to my Rower. I attempted to install the firmware using a USB thumb drive. Never get the "Upgrade" menu option for the install. Any tips on how to do this via the USB thumb drive?
