Regarding units of measure, the one that really gets me is "stones". Pounds and kilograms is one thing, stones another completely! :)

Am erging for fitness. Weight loss OK if it comes.

Haha, yeah it's a really difficult one to convert into anything else but it's so widely used here it's tough to use kilograms

It depends on the age of the person you're dealing with I find. Younger people tend to use kilograms these days (although they still often use feet and inches) whereas older people tend to use pounds and stone. I have no clue what my weight is in stone, I only know pounds because I got good at converting between the two thanks to US weightlifting* sources using them.

*Not actual, Olympic weightlifting. They use kilograms even in American I believe.

I feel old now Tom!!! I don't know anyone who uses kilograms

interesting. i didnt think anyone apart from the americans used imperial standards any more. and havent for many many years. here in NZ its all metric and you often get blank looks when you talk in imperial.
