It's a motivation thread.
Everyone likes a bit of recognition and a pat on the back.
Stay and post :)
And of course pointers and critic, they are always useful :)

Hoho, I don't know how you guys can do those 30'20's day in and day out. Really, really tough to rate down and try to maintain the pace - and this was 22-23

I will stay around I just need to stop myself posting in this thread when all I'm doing is the same steady state every day.
I need to stop taking a picture of the monitor at the end of every workout too I think I'm driving myself a bit nuts with it.

I'm also getting back into running again after a few patchy months, so my rowing is no doubt going to take a bit of a hit with that. Just need to get on and do it at the pace I know is right and stop trying to push things.

AussieLuke, relax! If you're having problems pushing things then the best thing you can do it just keep fit and active and just hit the erg when you think you might enjoy it more. This is precisely what has happened to me since Xmas....you may well surprise yourself if you keep "the engine" ticking over and come back mentally really up for some hard erg sessions....we get so hung up on all the numbers and doing sessions which "ought" to translate into a certain performance, that we forget a HUGE part of this is mental fortitude i.e. the ability to hurt, not really care, and then push it some more. The erg can mess with your head. I've seen the pattern so many times. ;)

Us tall guys love the low rate stuff. Makes is look good. Probably had to do with our max rate just being a tadge higher than R20 ;)

Decided this will be my last post in this thread for a while - not a flouncy exit, just going to stop posting basic SS workouts here as they no doubt bore everyone and don't bring anything interesting - plus I think it may sometimes make me push a bit harder than I should just to not post a crappy time - even though there is absolutely no obligation to post anything. Just going to try and get on with it for a bit and do my low rate steady state 10ks as often as possible.

I'll start posting my workouts again when I start doing something vaguely interesting!

I only just seen this!!!

This is a training thread, so whatever you do, no matter how poor or boring you think your sessions are, you are still "training" so i don't see why you should worry about how others may view what you post?

I don't see anything anyone posts in here as boring or same old. Somebody could post 100's of exact same sessions at the slowest paces and i would still be interested in reading/viewing their workouts they post each time. At least you're getting your arse on it, no bad thing!!!
