National Records

Postby JD2000 » April 18th, 2017, 4:38 am

I know that there are national records for various countries readily accessible on the various Concept2 sites for UK, Ireland, Australia, SA and America, but when I go on other countries' parallel C2 sites, e.g. Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, I see no similar section devoted to records. On the Benelux, Indian, Hong Kong, Taiwanese and Chinese sites, I can see world record listings but no records for those countries at all.

Do these other national record lists exist somewhere or am I on a hiding to nothing?

Unfortunately it is up to the Concept 2 supplier in each country so don't think they exist (they are limited here in Oz too)

Would there be any records held centrally by NGBs, the German/French/Italian equivalent of British Rowing, perhaps?

There are no ''NGB's (National Governing Bodies) for Indoor Rowing.

British Rowing is the governing body in the UK for On Water Rowing only. It helps out by organising the British Indoor Rowing Championships but is not the governing body for the sport.

Rod is right - no national associations anywhere unfortunately but there are some new initiatives here in Oz that may come to something and there was a NZIRA about ten years ago that folded. We are very dependent on volunteers (200 in Boston) and a reluctant Concept2 all around the world.
