Why is there not a decent C2 iPhone app?

Postby DNA_Rower » October 10th, 2016, 2:58 am

I get that there is an iPhone app - but it is 100% designed for those people that connect to the PM5 via Bluetooth or cable or however it works (never used one).

I reckon 99% of people who use C2s never connect to the monitor - they are using C2s in the gym - so why make the app only for the 1%?

All I want is an app where I can record my workouts, have pace etc calculated, and upload my data to the Concept2 Logbook. Why not make it possible to manually enter data in to the existing app and then "up-sell" the connection feature so that people bug their gyms to install it, or buy their own C2s? You could still distinguish between data manually entered in the Logs and data entered via the monitor. It would build the online community and hopefully make more people serious about erging.

There used to be an app which was ok at recording data, but it was a bit buggy and I think it was withdrawn a while ago.

Is there any other simple app that can do this - just sync with the Logbook?

Couldn't you just browse to the C2 logbook in your mobile browser on your smartphone? I find the site pretty smartphone friendly.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I have the same question and I can't find any data anywhere.

I get that the C2 log from the website works pretty well on a phone but I would like to sync some of my data with the health app that comes with the iphone. There are apps for running, walking, biking but not rowing.

Does anyone use an iphone app that I can type in my rowing workout data similar to the C2 log, but have it sync to iphone Health?

cheers

Both ErgData and LiveRowing have Apple Health integrations.

All good answers, thanks. I should have mentioned that I have a Concept2 C with a PM2. It has no direct connectivity. I would like to enter my workout results into an app like I do on the logbook, then have that data populate the Heart application on my iphone.

It looks like I'll have to pony up for an upgraded monitor.

You already have an app on your phone that can do that. It's "Firefox", "Chrome" or "Safari".
