Hi all my first post , I am rowing at the moment but not on a concept I am actively looking for one at the moment
At the usual on line sites, I am in the uk south Yorkshire very little by the way of any local clubs this is why I looked online
And found this site,
I cant get too involved until I buy my machine, I am on a york 3000 my times look ok but I have no idea if the readout
Is accurate .
I am sure I will have a few questions to ask as I go along, just started it all to get a bit fitter but would like to join
Some of the competitions for motivation. ! Harvey

Welcome!

Keep browsing here and on-line sales sites, the C2 machines show up fairly frequently. Prices are routinely discussed in this forum. Hope your search is successful.

Welcome!

The readouts on your york 3000 rower won't be very accurate compared to a C2, nor will it provide you with anywhere near as much onscreen data as the C2. And you will likely find once you start rowing on a C2 that your times will be much slower by comparison to the york 3000.

Good luck on your C2 hunt. eBay is certainly a good place to look!!! Thats where i bought mine from at a good price.

My goals are simply to keep fit/get fitter and continue to enjoy rowing on the C2 :)

now to compare it to the york i was useing anth was quite right, it was just like starting again i used the york for 6 months and started with the concept a few weeks ago
bit of a shock for an old guy like me! but i am geting my times down and ranking in the UK not too bad, but its realy to keep me fit and its working.

Good on you, Harvey. Are you ranking 2k? shorter, longer? Check out the daily training and personal best threads in training subforum. Posting your workouts and results will help you stay engaged.

hi I'm a retired Union Sheet metal worker. Been helping build America for 40 yrs. I am also a bit beat up. Polio survivor, both knees replaced,1 shoulder replaced 1 repaired. Just retired in fall and started on a stationary bike after the holidays. In a couple of months I was able to do 10 mile in 1/2 hr.. Broke the handlebars then repaired that but the seat even with a gel pad and another piece of 1/2 foam under that. Just killed my ass. So I have always wanted a rower and got Concept2 model E In this short period of time I can feel my core firming up. My wife and I are exercise every other day she has elliptical. I can't hang more than 5 min. and my legs are on fire, on my quad above the knee. This Rower gives a great workout 5000 meters in 30 min. is a great workout. The learning curve for me is nailing the form each time. Concept2 videos are good as are the one's from Dark horse rowing. Cheers everone. :)

My job is so demanding as I'm on call 24/7 so whenever I can Im on my rower mostly during the winter months as golfing & mountain biking are my other hobbies come this spring/summer. I think for anyone in their 60's & doing 3000 meters in 30 min is pretty fantastic. I'm lucky to do 3 miles in that time & I'm just 62. I switch off every other day on my elliptical but its always the Rower that kicks my butt. Buying the E model was the best purchase ever as I'm not that competitive when it comes to exercising but it's a way for me to relief stress & get my days off to a good start. I have has my rower for over 2 years & I still feel like a newbie. Lol
