I use both softwares row pro and liverowing,

live rowing with a iphone4s, and row pro 4.3 with windows 10 10.1netbook

I tried both in two gyms, wrote a detailed summary on the freespirits homepage,
I had troubles with the connection, but it wasnt my fault- the pm5 had the old firmware, the point is this: if this whole softwarething with liverowing or row pro should really become a big issue: here are my conclusions:

1. The owner of the gym should regulary update the firmware of the ergs - otherwise a connection will not be possible for the older ergs.
2. There is still a demand of evolving the apps:
a) for row pro there should be a android/iphone app to mount easily your phone to the pm, or at least a cradle for
10´tablets, so i could mount my win10 tablet to the pm, other solutions with many ankles and a long fixing time are for a gym inappropriate - everything should go easy and quick - the big think on row pro is the really live online training - if some gym users join: there would be more possibilities for a live training - so it is also a market here
b) liveRowing is a app for gym condition, now it works almost fine, but still i have some trouble updating the workout to the c2log, and still the problem of wrong rest times between intervals (crossteam challenge or c2 wod)
3. the most important think for people like me with a tight time schedule: it should go easy, quick and working accurate: it have to be a helper and a thing which make fun...it shouldnt prevent or disturbing you from training...so i use the stick in the gym and waiting for a android app for row pro or liverowing - because i do not want to carry this technic stuff with me...just the phone and the c2cradle with cable- need the bluetooth for the heartrate

Take a laptop and a USB-A to USB-B printer cable into the gym with you and you can run the updates. It takes about six minutes to run.

yes i did this in both gyms, and i didnt ask, you should have seen the faces of the gym crew observing me what a hell i am doing with the ergs...but for me it is most important: quick, easy and stable...and this works best with less software in gym: just the stick...and hope in future with my galaxy s7 rowpro or liverowing...at home i recommend like Carl a pc just for rowing...if you have the possibilities...

I used to sit on one ergo rowing it for six minute intervals while I upgraded the one next door.

Good to know. Thanks all. My old laptop crashed and I have a Chromebook now (not compatible). My son (who is a member of the same gym but lives across town) has a brand new Mac. I'll see if I can talk him into coming with me to my gym and letting me "borrow" his Mac. That's useful information. I probably won't ask permission either. The guys that run my gym just sit around up front and usually never get near the rower. My guess would be it hasn't been updated in a long time - though they do keep it fairly clean.

Digital Rowing should have got onto this earlier, You can really cut down to App to just online rowing only. All the analysis, training stuff can go, you just want to be able to start the App, see who else is online and schedule or join a row, keep it REALLY easy to use. It's still my belief that RowPro will really take off users wise once they get this working reliably with the PM5.

Contrary to what most people think, RowPro is for regular training and NOT racing.

Currently, I copy the row data to a USB-Stick after using LiveRowing.

Same - but I did inform them today via Twitter that HR curves aren't appearing in the C2 Log when a "workout of the day" is uploaded. They said they're on it - which is cool to see. I'm hoping Strava do something for integration at some point as well, as it's by far my preferred log for swim, bike and run.

No stroke data is showing in the Logbook, nor the heart rate for the splits (even though the PM apparently has the data somewhere).

- iOS 10.3
- PM5 firmware 22.25 beta
