Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

https://i.postimg.cc/YvxQcgd0/20190814-093855.jpg I hardly ever do a 30r20 and I think the last TT I did for this was about 18 months ago, and it was circa 7600m so this is a default PB. I sat down with the full intention of doing a gentle 30 mins as my lower back felt a bit angry but after the fir...

Re: First Time Rowing Programme Suggestions

Welcome to the forum. I haven't got much else to add other than make sure you don't have the drag factor too high e.g. damper on 10 on a clean rower. FYI, as dust accumulates in the fan on an old and unclean rower the drag factor drops so don't assume the number on the damper is always where you wan...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Yesterday I had my best UT2 Training ever. As it's still warm in my training room I decided to do 4x5k/1'R so I can drink a bit between the intervals but HR won't drop much. My plan was to start at R19 180W (2:04,5) and slow down to R18 170W (2:07) when my HR gets above UT2 level (135). Normally I ...

Re: Should I be doing rest meters?

Any time I do a interval workout I actually rest during the rest period - as in I do nothing but sit there and try to catch my breathe and maybe drink some water. I know others like to do a super light paddle during rest and that prob works fine too but I prefer to rest especially if doing intense ...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

New 2km pb by some 3 seconds - two of those 4by 1km intervals with 5 min rest have helped. Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

My usual 10 miles at UT2 pace ( averaged @ 1:59.7) with HR capped at a max of 145, and preferably under 140.

It strayed up to 141 at 15k but dropped down under 140 circa 100m after the end of the split, which skewed the results.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

This didn't go according to plan. Target was 10 x 1k at 1:47. Set off too fast and my ego kicked in and wouldn't let me slow down. <> Sounds brutal. What rest do you use for these intervals? I usually use 60 secs but I knew before I started it was going to be tough so I gave myself 90 secs rest. @ ...

<> 15min elliptical, fancied a change but forgot how boring it was. Shoulder rehab routine. Ellipticals are often a bit dull, but strangely I almost never find the erg boring, even for long pieces. Perhaps it's the pain? Same here. I always think it's due to the sheer amount of info on the monitor ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I am new to rowing. I've been using the machine in a "so-so" from january to june. Since June, I started to watch some videos to do it right - since everyone in the gym rows in a different way, and way off from what is the basic technique. For three weeks I've been using the basic training from con...

Re: Dropping Hands

So, I saw a video of me rowing last night that someone caught at the gym. In general I have good form and teach others on form but I noticed something I was doing a few months ago and thought I had fixed it but I guess not. I let my hands pass my knees on the recovery before bending them like you w...
