Re: Warmup for timed trials

The Eddy Fletcher WU. 19’45”of mainly low intensity punctuated by a few 30-45” pace blips approaching or reaching race pace—all paces indexed to previous 2K PR. Not a glycogen drain at all! You will have plenty of fuel remaining for the big effort.

Very simple and reliable photo hosting site. If the KD joint joins and parts without interference and evidences no deformation and/or attempt to correct deformation, take the discount and touch it up. If you suspect significant damage, box it up and take the replacement.

Re: Model D1 - When should I replace the bearings?

If D1 references 2003 first version model D, might be time? You’re ordering parts for the drivetrain so may as well replace the mains. The economics of á la carte shipping cost and time lost on repeat teardowns say just do it.

Re: Difference between normal 30' v 30' 20SPM PB

You’re taking 210-240 additional strokes during the high rate effort cf. to 30’r20 effort. I’d be amazed if meter totals were much closer. 12.5 meters/stroke average for the rate-restricted pb; 9.5 m/stroke av. for the all-in pb. What’s not to like?

Re: Forum Flyers

@ Anna Rae: including the 1 day Carole McNally memorial row, looks like nine, or ten at the end of this month. Perfect attendance.

Re: Interactive 2000m Training Program [Heart Rate or Power base?]

Thank you for the reply, guys! Really helpful! I completed the interactive plan last summer - 16 weeks, Level 5, 6 Sessions. I stuck with HR cap pretty rigidly for the first half - mainly UT sessions with some AT. I started each piece at the lower pace level and if/when my HR got to the max for tha...

Re: Forum Flyers

Allan - First attempt for me too! Having COVID jab #1 tomorrow so thought I better get it in before my shoulder starts to really ache. (Rowed at 2:30 pace for the first 3 minutes and then put some extra effort in for the last 20 seconds because I didn't want to end with a distance of 666 :) ) Beats...

Re: roller bearings uneven on monorail

Don’t think the thread is derailed. As experienced gamba cortas we followed up on Tartuk’s speculation about causation. He can’t possibly derail his own thread, can he? Fixing or replacing the seat is pretty simple and painless cf. to fixing and maintaining the only body we’re ever gonna have. I usu...

Re: roller bearings uneven on monorail

Different leg lengths had not occurred to me; interesting. I'm 55 years old, though, so think it would have manifested itself sooner in other ways? But I will check, anyway. I have a slight leg length difference that isn't visually noticeable to an untrained eye. I only learned about it due to suff...

Re: Effect of Shock Cord from the slides on the stroke

I'm looking at slides and have been curious about the effects of the shock cord used to help keep a rower centered in the tracks. How many pounds of resistance does the shock cord provide? (Is it similar to an exercise resistance band? Does anyone have ideas about how this affects the effort made w...

Re: roller bearings uneven on monorail

. . . Unfortunately I'm not in the United States, so it would be good to find an equivalent person in my own country (NZ) who could have a look. Might contact Carl Watts, Kiwi and member here, does C2 repairs, mostly PM electronics refurb but also experience troubleshooting/correcting mechanical is...
