Re: [newbie] Second-handed Model D - What to look for?

Checklifetime metres on the monitor as well, plus there should be numbers underneath the fan casing to say when the machine was packaged. I bought a 20 year old machine model C in France last year and it had only done 31,000metres. Got it for €150 and was as smooth as you like. It had been stored in...

Re: Handlebar vibration issues

Try putting you BikeErg on shock absorbing floor mats
Have mine on a cheap yoga mat 5mm thick, no vibes

Think the nonsensical is a bit harsh, I’m merely a direct observation.
Otherwise your post makes sense.

Re: BikeErg v. Wattbike

Thanks James, that was my initial thoughts as well.
Have access to Wattbike for another couple of weeks or so, so it will be interesting to see what happens when I knock out some interval sessions and will also give the 4000m TT a shot and compare it again with the ErgBike when I get home to France

BikeErg v. Wattbike

Anyone else done a comparison between the BikeErg and WattBike? My best for 30min on BikeErg is 15600 or thereabouts. Did a 30min session on my son’s WattBike today and knocked out 17928m! This would suggest different calibration settings on these. I also haven’t done any training for 8 days so Obvi...

Re: Should I loose weight?

Definitely wouldn’t recommend it, but that’s how I did it and it worked for me. You have to know how your body works and how it reacts under certain circumstances. I had a period when I used to blast the weight off my by eating bagels and cream cheese. It worked! Go figure that one🤣 I had weird eat...

Re: Should I loose weight?

In my early Racing days, I had to “slim down” in the week before a race. On the Monday before the race on a Saturday, I would weight in at 170lbs, I used to drop that down to 161 by the Friday, meaning I could have an evening meal and breakfast and still make weight at 165(75kg) on rave day. Did th...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Mixed weather in SW France. Had a lot of rain lately which has meant river is too high to go OTW so it’s back to basics with Erg in the morning and BikeErg in th3 afternoon. Did and easy 60min on the BikeErg last night hitting 28,169m, nice and steady. This morning did an easy 8k on the Erg and will...

Re: Interval Pacing

When. I restarted serious training again after a while away from it, I did a couple of weeks getting used to training regularly again. I played with the old sessions I used to do just to put the body through the routines. I then had a couple of weeks doing various trials over 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, ...

Re: 'Serious' cyclists considering cross training with rower

I have been an indoor rower since 1999 with a few years “off” between 2012 and 2017 due to work and lifestyle changes. Have never considered myself as a serious cyclist but when I ride I enjoy it. Over the last couple of years I have gotten back into the Erg training as well as rowing on the water. ...

Re: UK Service

Once a year, give it a complete check over as well as doing the regular cleans, wipes, oiling etc on daily, weekly, monthly basis. Also check all the screws now and again. Change batteries on monitor once a year. I bought a Model C recently for €150 that had been stored in a garage for years. It was...
