Re: Should I loose weight?

In my early Racing days, I had to “slim down” in the week before a race. On the Monday before the race on a Saturday, I would weight in at 170lbs, I used to drop that down to 161 by the Friday, meaning I could have an evening meal and breakfast and still make weight at 165(75kg) on rave day. Did thi...

Re: Interval Pacing

When. I restarted serious training again after a while away from it, I did a couple of weeks getting used to training regularly again. I played with the old sessions I used to do just to put the body through the routines. I then had a couple of weeks doing various trials over 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, ...

Re: 'Serious' cyclists considering cross training with rower

I have been an indoor rower since 1999 with a few years “off” between 2012 and 2017 due to work and lifestyle changes. Have never considered myself as a serious cyclist but when I ride I enjoy it. Over the last couple of years I have gotten back into the Erg training as well as rowing on the water. ...

Re: UK Service

Change batteries on monitor once a year. I bought a Model C recently for €150 that had been stored in a garage for years. It was...

Re: SkiErg maintenance

Drop Concept 2 an email and pick their brains for their maintenance schedule. 1.4million in 5 years, not a huge amount. Give it a good clean, strip down all the rollers etc, fan casing and away you go. Watch when you replace the cords that you get the tension right or you may get a slight tension la...

It sounds to me like you had more of a space issue than any kind of issue with the SkiErg, especially if you’re already thinking about getting one again.
Space not an issue, just changes in lifestyle

Re: Anyone In Their 70's Rowing

I am just a youngster at 63 but hit 64 next month. I eventually got OTW last April with the rowing club in Cognac near where I live in France. Go out at least once a week, sometimes twice depending on how many brownie points I have accumulated. Start serious indoor rowing in 1999 until 2011 then due...

How are you Dave? It's been a while I’m good Nick and in good Nick😜 Just getting fit again after about 8 years of not doing anything like what I used to do. Been in France for over 4 years now and enjoying retirement from work. Still got daft aspirations of getting close to 7minutes again on the Er...
