Being not in the least mathematically inclined, is there a percentage that I could knock off my stated calories burned to get a reasonable approximation? I am a slow old lady, lightweight, rarely get much under 3 minutes for 500 meters, but I do row for 45-60 minutes at a time. :? Thanks for a guess...

Nutrition question: kefir?
I have a lactose intolerance issue, but yogurt seems OK. I'd be interested in first hand knowledge about kefir, if any of you have some thoughts or knowledge about it (most especially the kind that is cultured from grains, as opposed to the grocery store variety).
Thank you,
Lynn

Erging as resistance/strength training?
Being in my early 60's, female, fair-skinned, and with a family history of osteoporosis, I KNOW I should do a few strength workouts each week. However, I really dislike doing them. Does anyone know if the erg is considered a form of resistance training, or how could I make it so? :? Thanks a bunch, ...

I don't know about anyone else, but I am having trouble connecting real names with User ID's. What do you all think about posting your user name with your real name so the slower members like myself will know who is posting. Might even be fun to learn why you picked that particular User ID and what...

Tickers, distances...
Does someone have a good link/source for calculating distances to various places in the world? I would like to also know about the tickers that you can use to chart your progress as you make your way around. Not being a computer whiz, it needs to be fairly simple....
Thank you!

Thank you!

Kona2, Sadly, I have not been able to row since the JVC ended. All that snow shoveling really messed up my shoulder. On top of that, we are still waiting for the replacement seat rollers, and two days after ordering the rollers the monitor cable decided to quit working, so the meters are not loggin...

Re: Using the quote option
Select and delete the parts you don't want. Type in your response after the unquote symbol (/quote in brackets). It is probably a good idea to use the preview button to check it before you send it. (Note that you can't edit in the preview mode. If you spot an error there, you have to scroll down to...

Using the quote option
I can't quite get the use of the "quote" option right. Using the upper right quote tab brings up the entire item to be quoted. How do I: 1) get out of that box and into the space for my dialog, and 2) select certain parts that I want to comment on, if I don't want to reprint the entire message I am ...
