Re: Forum Flyers

Nice one, Henry. I didn't enjoy the session when I did it earlier this month. Thought I'd use the first one as a pacing tester, but at the end of it didn't feel like doing it again at a faster pace! I've tentatively put it into the training plan for the last day of June, but it will depend if it wil...

Re: Will a model D fit in an Elantra?

I don't have a sedan, but if your back seats can drop then I'd be pretty confident of transporting a model D. You could move your passenger front seat forward and put the front part of rower sideways in the backseat footwell (with thin part heading towards the back of the car) which should sort out ...

Re: Low battery / Skierg Pm5

I've been using an old iPhone charger with my C2 cable, so that should work fine.

Re: Rowpro workout questions

I haven't used those plans for a long time, but I seem to remember that if a piece had a target range for pace, then the pace graph would have a shaded band representing that. On stroke rate targets there was an indicator on the top of the RowPro PM that showed that. Any interval sessions would be a...

Re: Low battery / Skierg Pm5

I was also surprised with how my rower's PM5 was chewing through batteries. I can't remember exact % details, but the batteries that came with the PM5 lasted from Aug 2017 to the end of June 2018. The next set lasted until early Jan 2019, and I remember seeing a reading below 20% before I changed th...

Re: best app/subscription service for rowing programmes

Hi It sounds like RowPro will give you what you're looking for - there are built-in training plans, as well as online sessions if that interests you. You can download a trial version from Digital Rowing . I would have also recommended looking at the Interactive Training Plans which take into account...

Re: Forum Flyers

Good times, Jack / Lindsay! Nice to see Forum Flyers back on top of the board even if just for a short while. Holiday activities with the kids today, but hoping to have a crack at my 4min SB later this evening, rounding off with Stage 1 of Zwift's Tour of Watopia (30 virtual kms to help top up the c...

Re: Forum Flyers

Sorry - didn't get the memo in time, and have ruined the chances of getting an all-female boat by popping in today's warmup to get a score on the board. Actually, it was just a selfish attempt to get the feel of Boat 1 before I get dumped all the way back down to 6 by month-end. :) Today's session w...

Hammer out a nice time on that 5k, Dave.
Thanks Jack, happy enough with the 3% improvement, but still 19% off my 2008 PB. Fair reflection of where I am though at the moment - paced it evenly with HR drifting up linearly into the high 170s before the final 250m sprint.

Re: Forum Flyers

Nice one, Jack. Given the lack of females, 80% or 100% effort wouldn't have changed the boat position. I'm unlikely to convince the wife to try this as her first row after many years away, but I'll start working on her for the 1500m next month. Having a pop at my 5km SB later today. Last one was don...

Re: Forum Flyers

Thanks Lindsay. It's a pity that we're struggling to fill boats this month - possibly the fiddly programming putting people off. I don't have much motivation to have a proper go again, unless I feel like maliciously knocking Graham out of boat 4 to sit on his own in Boat 5 :) . Yesterday I did the M...

Re: Forum Flyers

I did a 10000m yesterday to log an entry for the Indoor Rowers League. We only need 2 more entries there. My time (43:49.2) was nowhere near what the others have done, but better than an empty seat! It's a 1.2% improvement on my 40+ PB watts from last year June, but I still need to find 17% more wat...

Thanks for flagging that Jack. He's managed to sneak 2 posts past the Spam Patrol, so we're rightfully annoyed and he will be deleted in due course.

Cheers

Re: Any Concept 2 owners use RowPro?

I bought v2 just after getting my Model D in 2004, and upgraded the software through the years. I enjoyed a few online sessions but always struggled to get the timing right to be ready for fixed start times, and preferred to be more flexible in my training. On the other hand I occasionally benefited...

I've just signed up. Have had some quiet weeks recently thanks to work, but looking to ramp some volume up again now that work times are returning to normal.
