Re: Why i failed my 100k row, and why thats okay.

Great write up! When I got my Concept2 back in 2004, I kept increasing the distances, and pushing for PBs across the range. With some focused training I did my first marathon in 2005, thinking it was merely a stepping stone on the way to the ultimate 100km goal (every longer distance before that had...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Sounds reasonable to me, even though we're one of the teams above them in the queue (Forum Flyers).

This I agree with.
As do I. Verify, filter, eschew megalomania!
Moi aussi! (That makes 3 Forum Flyers)
The thread subject starts with "Childish", and I do agree with my esteemed colleagues, so let's go for four Forum Flyers in a row...

Re: Forum Flyers

Nice one, Ivan. That'll certainly help push Boat 3 up the list once we get another female on board. BikeErg for me tonight - trying out one of the Zwift training plans for some variety. Was an easy intro session, so 50 minutes of lowish heart rate intervals. Good excuse to catch up on some TV while ...

Re: Forum Flyers

Thank you i finally register ! So my score is 3131m. I don't know how good or bad it is but i was dying on the last minute :D Welcome on board Esteban! Any score where you give your best is a good score. There's still time to do another one in the month if you feel like you could improve the pacing...

Re: Forum Flyers

I managed around 1.5 million a year before kids came along, even after long work days, but I don't think I was doing much else with my spare time back then. Also was doing at least 1 marathon per season, so the training plan tended to include a lot of long steady pieces. I remember following the Row...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Hi I'm just row the february challenge, which is the first time. I would like to be on a team to add my results on the website, but i don't have anyone rowing with me. How can i post my results ? Is it possible ? Forum Flyers are always keen for new members, especially if they're female or lightwei...

Re: Interactive Training Plan for 2000m

The plan disappeared off the Indoor Sports Services website at some stage in the last couple of years. By complete luck I had captured the various screens in a spreadsheet (I think I was afraid of losing access to the plan in the future). Not sure if it is copyrighted or not, so I'll delete this lin...

Great milestone, Jack! That's some serious metres, and not over a long time either I think.

Re: Row'd Royalty 2020

The Forum Flyers are a virtual team, so you don't have to worry about any actual meetups if that isn't your cup of tea. You're welcome to join our CTC team if you're going to be doing the challenges anyway. There can sometimes be additional incentives to try and beat fellow team mates to a higher po...

Re: Forum Flyers

Well spotted, Jack! My wife mentioned that the footage was more focused on the 40-49 Women's race, as they were on the first row of ergs, while we slow men had to make do with the back side of the arena. She spotted the orange shirt bobbing back and forth a couple of times. I learnt from the experie...

Re: Forum Flyers

Only getting into Paris late on Friday afternoon, so we'll have to make that quick rendezvous work after Ewen's race. Decided to skip my last session tonight given late work and packing priorities. It was only the 3x45" AN session for practicing starts, which I don't think is going to make much diff...

Re: Short and overweight - realistic goals?

Hi Phobos

Some find a virtual team helps keep things interesting. There are a few open ones on the forum, or involved in the monthly Cross Team Challenge. I'm biased towards the Forum Flyers, but the others are good too.

Cheers

Re: Forum Flyers

Good work Rick. Any chances of a medal in Paris? Doubtful. At least three guys have posted verified times some 15-22 seconds faster than me recently, and two others I know of who haven't posted times yet are very, very fast. Then there are 13 guys about whom I know nothing. I'll aim for an S...
