Re: Forum Flyers

doing back to back 2ks like that is very impressive Dave especially solo at a distance 5 boats pretty good too for May I did an early 2112 tonite @1:56.9 to get an entry in to start the month Thanks Lindsay. Not so solo - the feeling of having my efforts on public display added a little edge to pro...

Re: Forum Flyers

Just put in an effort as well. Not flat out but a decent effort nonetheless. I espacially focused on a negative split, something which is suposed to be helpfull but I always hate it. I love a positive split! Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR 7:17.7 2,112m 1:43.6 315 1382 28 166 1:45.0 500m 1:45....

Re: Forum Flyers

Well rowed Sir! Hard to explain second of two efforts on consecutive days producing the better result. A lavish multi-day recovery may not be necessary, perhaps even signaling the body that the job is done in one? Peak prep still a positive factor? I think so. Improved familiarity with the context ...

Re: Why did you stop using RowPro ?

Not sure how long it has been there, but on the pricing page on the DigitalRowing site there is mention of a RowPro App "coming soon". Seems like they might have finally started listening to you, Carl.

Re: kid's virtual rowing teams?

I'm not aware of a specific team for youngsters, but with a bit of effort, you might be able to start one up and see if parents on this forum would encourage their children to join. On Forum Flyers we sometimes have children competing in the monthly Cross Team Challenge , but it depends on the month...

Re: Forum Flyers

As expected, my motivation for Sunday's BRVC D final was lacking. I noticed that quite a few others had bailed from the finals in general. In particular there was one absentee that had looked like he might give me someone to row with, so I prepared myself for a lonely time at the back of the 5 entra...

July is a plain old 2112m (apparently the distance at Henley regatta that is cancelled)
:( After doing 2 x 2000m in 2 days over the weekend, I could have done without this! Oh well, at least I know how to pace it by now, although that last 112m could hurt.

Re: Resistance

As Citroen says, you're unlikely to find unhappy Concept2 customers here, but you might be lucky to find someone who has done the research and has covered other makes. I can't compare about how the BikeErg feels relative to other brands, but I have found there is more than enough resistance availabl...

Re: British Rowing Virtual Champs

Thanks fellas. My start was shocking and I wasted too much energy clawing it back so with hindsight I must have lost some time on that, but I was rowing on fumes at the end. I'll do another one in a week or so and see if the lack of racing start will help get a better PB Well done Stu. Was good to ...

Re: Forum Flyers

OK, I punched the buttons like you posted into the PM5, Jack, but I'm not sure it worked the way it should. There didn't seem to be any 2 minute rest intervals, just rowing for 7 minutes, 5 minutes, 3 minutes, 1 minute. I could see the timer reset for each interval, but there was no rest indicator ...

Re: Forum Flyers

best of luck Dave - that is a huge field for your age group and a bit of an outlier - lots of groups around ten and less and about 1200 overall. I just couldn't justify an entry in current fitness state and there was a big risk of a very unfriendly starting time either in the middle of the night or...

Re: British Rowing Virtual Champs

The list of entrants is up on the website, with start times to follow once everyone is happy with the data.

Long-time forum members will be interested to note a certain individual in the 65-69 heavies looking to add a virtual DNS to his many real-life ones.

Re: Forum Flyers

@ Slothful1 : Dave, will your virtual race have a Zoom-like video conference hookup or animated, boats-in-lanes, progress board as per Rowpro and live venues? According to the mail that came today, it looks like there will be a livestream on the British Rowing website . Still waiting for them to co...
