Re: Forum Flyers

Good CTC time there, jp. Music has definitely helped me on the longer rows. I don't have a long drive to work everyday, and don't get a lot of time to listen to music, so training time is a good excuse to get through some. Lately though I've been working through movies and TV series on an iPad balan...

Re: Forum Flyers

Hey, jp, you kept your experience well hidden - you clearly know what you're doing! Your series of training plans sound like a good idea, and good luck breaking through the 7:00 barrier this time around.

Re: Forum Flyers

Hi jp The monthly challenges are helpful to give you some motivation, but I've also found a training plan useful to take away the "I don't know what to do today, so let me row tomorrow rather" distractions. There are some plans floating around the forum, but these interactive plans are also a good o...

Re: Forum Flyers

... I think I am now registered with both the ctc and IRL. With the former I guess I wait to hear if or when I get put in a boat, ... Have you done the 2818m and entered the score on the C2CTC site? I'm not seeing you on the results list yet. There is no automatic link from your logbook to this sit...

Re: Forum Flyers

Hi jp You need to use "High Flyers 18" for the IRL. At some point we had 2 teams (Forum Flounderers for the slower people, and High Flyers for the faster team), but for a couple of years we've only managed 1 team, and just keep adding the year to it to create a new one (because we couldn't get some ...

Re: Forum Flyers

Hi again, jp here, I've tried unsuccessfully, more than once, to register on the c2ctc.com website. I know there are problems but can you just clarify, as I am registering for the first time I assume the name and password are new and not something I have already used either for the c2 log book or c...

Re: Forum Flyers

Is there a way we can make Dave’s summary of our team activities—including where to find and how to sign up—a sticky inside our forum page? Or, If this isn’t possible, could we add it to Capt. Henry’s intro to the team on our logbk affiliation page? Certainly a well-organized omnibus answer to a nu...

Re: Forum Flyers

Welcome jp! There are 4 events that are running simultaneously, and they all need some form of separate sign-up: Firstly, the general team affiliation runs throughout the season - you'll need to choose "Forum Flyers" as your Affiliation under your log book profile (this is different to "Team" which ...

Re: Forum Flyers

Good stuff - looks like we're filling the team up nicely. There were already a few names up when I put my entry in on Tuesday night. I've also noticed the flakiness of that site. Haven't worked out the pattern but it might be related to number of pages accessed in a row. More incentive to keep us on...

Re: Semi outdoor use

Hi I don't live in a place with such extremes, so can't comment from experience, but the question has popped up occasionally on the rowing side of the forum. The main issues seem to be the monitor not performing in the cold, and the lubrication in the clutch becoming less effective (some links below...

Re: Forum Flyers

The IRL is open for business for the new season. If anyone would like to sign up then I think just nominate the High Flyers 17 when entering profile. If you are not competing this year then best to go into profile and remove that team so that others may sign up. I'll pop a time in soon to get the b...

Re: Forum Flyers

I'm up for joining the IRL if it goes ahead. Also happy to make way for faster individuals if we get more than 10.

Re: Forum Flyers

Welcome on board, Daniel!

We're always keen to have new members, but especially if they're lightweights or female. Check out Cross Team Challenge which you might not have seen before (it isn't affiliated to the main Concept2 challenges, but has been going for many years).

Cheers

Re: Forum Flyers

Nicely done, Jack. Looks like that should push one of boat 4's females down to the stranded boat 5, and there might be a small chance of getting boat 5 out before the end of the month. I added up the first 6 intervals from a scheduled 10x1' r 1' AN session from the interactive plan last night, and m...

Jack was faster than me! That's at least 2 votes for letting you into the team then.
