Re: Forum Flyers

Hi guys, I just signed up for the team. Thanks for having me! I think I will have a go at the 6k challange today. Welcome! If you're willing to share, we'd be interested in some additional info like first name, where you are, basis history. One day I'll collect these profiles somewhere, but for now...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Thanks again Dougie.

Yes, Forum Flyers are always interested in new members and would be keen for you to join, but check out the other teams' pages and see which one looks like it might suit you best.

Cheers

Re: Forum Flyers

Welcome Mike. Let us know if you need help navigating and signing up for the various challenges. For starters, edit your profile in the logbook and select Forum Flyers as your Affiliation. This will get your metres accumulating towards the season total for us. Then go to the Teams heading on the log...

Re: Beginner with new Concept 2d, looking advice

Welcome! I'd say those are decent times given your training history, height and relative inexperience on the rower. (And purely coincidental that they're close to mine :).) Most would recommend dropping the drag factor down into the more typical 110-130 range, but it also is a personal preference, s...

Re: Forum Flyers

Just finished off the 6k for the VIII's challenge..sonofadiddly that was no fun at all. My 2017 and previous PB was about a 1:54.5 split, and since I already accidentally PB'd on my 5k last november I thought it would be prudent to shoot for a 1:54 average and flat pace the whole shebang and see ho...

Re: Forum Flyers

I feel like I've walked into a clubhouse the day after a big night, with all the evidence of a good time lying around :). Haven't seen so many new posts in a day for a while. Something to be said for being confined to the house! Thanks for the update, Chris, and well done to the other new centurions...

Re: Forum Flyers

The imagery coming out of the US while I'm prepping to go to work is awesome - Chernobyl-style gas mask wearing, bidet spraying and upside-down people. :) I'm not sure I could do more than 3 days on a row on a bike, but a 6-day tour must also have been quite an experience to go through. Not feeling ...

Re: Forum Flyers

Good work on the weight loss, Cynthia. I hear you on the current shopping challenges - had to go for our first shop in a week on Friday, and spent a lot of time pivoting around people, standing back from the shelves while making my mind up, and also trying to figure out what substitutes to grab beca...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Thanks Rick and Dougie :) . I'm worried that I'm getting an ambulance-chasing reputation here!

Kenni - you're welcome to throw your name into the Forum Flyer hat for the CTC and other challenges. Team thread is over here.

Cheers

Ha ha! Thanks for the recruiting, Dougie. We'll convince you to move to our team one day. GeekOgre - you'd be very welcome to join. Hopefully you'll stay for more than just the Spring Challenge, e.g. the monthly Cross Team Challenge , and the sparkling conversation over on the team thread . Cheers D...

Re: Forum Flyers

We'll give you a pass this month from the CTC, Cynthia, provided you don't disappear from the forum, and eventually come back to the next manageable CTC. Walking pain-free is clearly a priority, so we'll wait for things to improve before we start questioning your commitment to the team. :) I was goi...

Re: RowPro: What are the small colored rectangles by each rower's initials?

I think that might be an indicator of the quality of the internet connection to the RowPro server for that individual. I haven't used RowPro in a while, but I think that was something that used to show up during online sessions.

Hopefully one of the regulars will be past soon to confirm.

Re: Forum Flyers

Thanks for the reply, how do I join your team for the spring series challenge? Didn't the world erg challenge start on 15 March? I'm 38, did a bit of on-water 15 years ago, been erging off and on for years. Obviously will be doing a lot more for the foreseeable. I used to be around 6m40s for 2k and...
