Re: Is the Ski Erg giving you the workout you wanted?
If you had to choose between the rowing machine and the skierg, which would you go for based on the quality of the workout? If would be forced to choose between both, for a single workout/exercise all over the year, I would go maybe with the SkiErg, but I find it a very hard choice, TBH. I find the...

Re: How well does a SkiErg complement the rower and elliptic
How does the SkiErg do when thinking about boredom on longer pieces? I don't get bored on the rower, but I do on the treadmills etc. I find it much much much easier to do a long piece on SkiErg as I find the RowErg mentally way more fatiguing. On the SkiErg I simply have more possibilities to vary ...

Maybe this could be interesting for you…

I tried it with RowErg and SkiErg. Did work pretty good.

Re: Rowing in Zwift (high quality software) who's interested
I've been thinking about the fact that we can't chime in like the bikers. I noticed some groups use a separate messaging system that is either audio or can do speech to text. Most of them use Discord (https://discordapp.com) for that purpose – very good cross plattform software. Tried it once with ...

Re: Rowing in Zwift (high quality software) who's interested
Is it true that the cyclists use their hands to send kudos and short chat messages during rides? Mostly, yes. But it depends. Some cyclists are more chatty than others. But in general I would say that most of them are quite chatty. Not being able to use our hands (as they are very busy with rowskie...

Re: Rowing in Zwift (high quality software) who's interested
What I find interesting about your solution… it looks like it’s possible to adjust power/rpm – I’m a big fan „1.0“ for Row- and SkiErg.
(Since some month I‘m using the CABLE, a little ANT2BLE brigde, which I also use with an older ANT-only powermeter to connect my GF‘s bike to Zwift on aTV.)

Re: Rowing in Zwift (high quality software) who's interested
This is kind of an intractable problem given that the actual sports are very different in real life. [...] All that to say that you HAVE to keep up with the cyclists! Sorry! Maybe my post was misleading, but I have no problem with that at all. I find it motivating to be able to keep up with cyclics...

Re: Rowing in Zwift (high quality software) who's interested
and then there's the whole looking backwards thing. Agree. In RL there‘s this (a bit stupid looking) RowBike. I could imagine, that an avatar like this would be a good compromise for Zwift. Thoughts? If I had the choice, I would go with… Bike = Bike RowErg = RowBike* SkiErg = RollSki* (double pole,...

Re: Rowing in Zwift (high quality software) who's interested
Same for me, @eleannorbse. Sliding up and down, with full concentration on every single stroke, starring allt the time at the PM and the walls of the very same room… ohhhh boy, that drove me crazy. Since I found a way to use it with Zwift, I have fun again on my RowErg. The RowErg on Zwift definitiv...

Re: Setting drag factor
So much so that 98rpm puts out 271 watts on a 1 damper (around 60 drag apparently) Bummer. :o Definitely more of a Fitness / CrossFit / AirDyne without handles bike than a pure cyclists bike. Agree, as the 170mm fixed crank length, the very little adjustment possibilities and the noise level are fu...

Thanks for this detailed information. Very helpful. I'll look if I can upgrade to the PM5 with the green logo.
