Re: 3rd Party Apps

I've just started using asensei. If you're a rowing novice, I would recommend this app.

I tried liverowing but just never cared for the graphics. I do use Rowpro which I enjoy for the occasional online races.

Re: Asensei

Just completed my first Asensei workout. The first session is a 30 minute introduction to rowing with Murray giving a nice demo of the rowing stroke while you row along. It's a pretty good visual of the stroke and it was nice to follow along with his pacing. I still consider myself a novice, so it w...

Re: Stroke Rate

I'm amazed you can pull that stroke rate for 30 minutes! Stu has a good thought about your technique. Obviously something you are doing is weak and ineffectual. I'm a relatively slow rower yet I routinely pull that same distance in 30 minutes at a stroke rate of 20. Yes, half the number of strokes y...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Did the 8 x 500m yesterday, first time I have done intervals anywhere near that length. I averaged 2:12 for the 500m. Was fairly pleased but feel I could have gone harder, however I wanted to complete the session so didn't go all out. It's also my longest ever actual row, at just over 8km. Today wi...

Re: Newbie Question

Welcome and congrats on your new erg. As a general rule, we try to lengthen our stroke. When you describe shortening your stroke, I cannot imagine that this would be to your advantage. Perhaps a bit of time watching the Concept 2 videos on technique would be worth your while. Take the time now to tr...

Re: Asensei

Why so negative? I think it looks interesting. My problem is that I only have a PM3 and this app requires PM5

Asensei

Anyone here using Asensei with their rower? Looks like an interesting app affiliated with Eric Murray.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I've never been one to do much interval training. Usually I just get on and do steady state rows 30-60 minutes. Yesterday decided to try a 2000m, 1000m, 800m, 600m, 400m, 200m with 1.5 minutes rest. This made the 5k total pretty interesting. Started the 2k at 2:08 and then challenged myself to take...

Re: Newbie - How do I find my stroke length?

I've been looking at my drive length in real time using erg data along with the force curve on the PM for the past 2 months. This combo has really helped me keep my stroke in good form. I still tend to deteriorate when I fatigue or rate up. By watching my drive length I can alert myself when I am g...

BPP week 15.1

10km, 2:19, r22. Felt nice and easy after a 30 minute, r20 session at 2:15 the day before.

Re: Am I The Only Person in the U.S. On Rowpro?!?!?

I'm here in the US and also use rowpro occasionally. Sadly, just not a lot of folks using it for online rowing. There are pretty consistent weekend rows for 30 minutes that I hop on fairly regularly. Pretty good number of half or full marathon rows going on now too for the C2 challenge (not my cup o...

Re: First Time 10k

Welcome! Do you want to be a rower or do you just want to use the rowing machine occasionally as an adjunct to your other workouts? You're obviously pretty fit if you can hop on the erg and pull a 10k in 42 minutes with the damper on 10. Particularly for your size. If you want to be a better rower, ...
