Re: Rate my technique

I'm impressed with your technique. It just needs to be a bit more fluid which will come with time. Well done!

Re: Pulse vs Time vs distance?

I hear you. Thanks My problem I guess, is that I used to row years ago and my stroke rate seems slow already - Stroke Rate 31 What pulse would you say is good to try to maintain? Wow! 31 SPM? You did a 1k time trial as you first piece on the erg. No wonder you were wiped out. Follow Henry's advice ...

Re: Pulse vs Time vs distance?

Welcome!

Please tell us a bit more about yourself. Age, height, weight and your general level of fitness. Also, what are your goals (if any) for being on the erg (weight loss, general fitness, racing, etc...)?

Curious why you need that cable with your combination? I just upgraded to a PM5 so I could stop using my live rowing cable.
Ok and which app do you row with>?
I mostly use ergdata. I've also started using Asensei. Both have worked very well wirelessly with my Iphone and PM5.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Pretty disappointed in myself with my first HD in over a year. I set out to do some ladder work 24, 26, 28, 30 x 2 minutes with 30 seconds rest. My goal was to keep the pace at 2:00. This is all an effort to try and help me get more comfortable at higher rates since I do most of my rowing at 22 spm....

Re: Asensei app update

I just purchased the Dark Horse rowing program for asensei. I have tried Erics and enjoyed that, it certainly made my return top the rower easier. Hopefully Shanes program ( which isn't cheap but come with 30 day trial period) will be worthwhile. I like his approach, he come across as a genuinely n...

Do you have specific goals or are you just looking to put in the daily meters?

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

3 x 15 minute SPM ladders using the Asensei app. This was a lot of fun for me and kept me engaged the entire 45 minutes of rowing. This app is fun and keeps pushing me by having a target pace required for each stroke rate up the ladders. Good workout!

Re: Noob errors from a newbie, some tips & encouragement

I always had a bowl of porridge circa 2.5 hours before starting. Fats are up to you, maybe some coconut oil melted into it? I also had a banana before starting and I sometimes had a few cashew nuts as I progressed. I had a strict hydration system of every 15-20 mins to sip liquids. For a FM you can...

Re: Noob errors from a newbie, some tips & encouragement

That should have read in the same shape. Also, after rowing every few days for a month the BEGINNING PETE PLAN is way too much for someone that's way out of shape. I find that I can only row every other day and I'm just working up to a 5k. As far as the beginner Pete plan, I don't know anyone here ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

30 minutes on the rower @ 19 SPM, HR capped at 75% of Max and 30 minutes on the AirDyne Pro Bike. Slowly coming back on times from the mid back injury/pain. Not sure if it was really an injury or if it was just something that was hurt and the rower triggered it. Anyway, my paces are extremely slow ...
