Re: Para-Rowing

Move4ward, Not in the UK but would work. First, Alden has a great seat that can be used either fixed or roller. Fully adjustable back with multiple Velcro straps to stay in place. I use it on a model D, can row on this due to permanent back issue, unable to row otherwise. Love my Alden seat. Second,...

Re: Will Model E legs fit Model D rower

Jackarabit, thanks for your post but that option has been assessed and discounted due to the fact that I have to take down the rower after use. Also, storage of said boxes would be an issue. Getting on is easy, getting off not so. My best compromise so far is to have a stool to the side that can of...

Re: Skierg pb thread

Good one John. We're on the same page, I PBd my 5K this morning. Did a 5K warm up on the rower around 2:07. Skierg 5K PB 22:14.7 43r last 500 at just over 2:09. Great jobs, Kini & John. Hard efforts! Have laid off 'hard' this past week due to shoulder / back issues. Was able to set a new PW (person...

Re: Rowing & Running Fitness

My local 10k race today. It's got national status, so 2,700 starters from all over. This was one of my main targets for the year. How far would 6 months of regular erging (30km per week) get me? A bit of a fight over the twisty 1st kilometer, but OK after that. Made it in equal splits, but drifting...

Re: Skierg pb thread

2nd 10K last night- new PB 45:38.3 r40 Last 2K split at 2:15 r45 Pretty pleased with this one. And you should be pleased! That is a hard effort. Broke 50 minutes one time, still remember it well. That last 2k shows a lot of strength. Have seen much on media about the big island getting hammered wea...

Re: Skierg pb thread

John, am working back up to it. Have a half marathon in October. Plan long term is to do at least 11 more marathons. That would make it an even 100 of marathon distance or longer. If I end up being one of those old geezers that has to walk, that will work. First triathlon was in 1981, so have always...

Re: Ski Erg for Max Cardio-How To Maximize?

Hello Ski Erg Forum I am 44 years old, former runner, retired at 33 due to OA, competed at university track (100m, 200m, 1500s) and in late twenties switched to 5ks and half-marathons. About 5 years ago bought a ski erg while injured from other training but never really used it. Moved across the co...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Shaved 77 seconds off my old PB in the 50K tonight... Could have done better if I had properly prepared for it.... In reality, I'm just happy to have finished because I wanted to give up SO many times during this piece, it was extremely difficult. As you can see by the splits... I front loaded the ...
