Re: Skierg pb thread

New 60 minute PB this morning, the first time I've done it. My goal was to stay right on 2:23 pace, and go faster the last 12 minutes. I warmed up for 15 minutes, took my shirt off for the time trial, and did a 15 minute warm down. 60' 12656m 2:22.2 40 187 😃 12:00 2518 2:22.9 41 171 24:00 2517 2:23...

Re: What Skierg training are you doing?

Couple of easy erg days after canoeing Sunday on the Missouri River. Water is WAY too cold to dump in this time of year, was careful (and a little slow) since I was solo on this one. Let the paddle season begin :D ! Just 30 minutes on the skierg this morning but always feels better to get a session ...

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

Yeah, am sore in spots that I forget existed. Didn't drown or dump, which was a challenge at times. MO River is way too cold to be taking a dip right now! Need a couple of easy days to just loosen up shoulder and elbows...

Re: What Skierg training are you doing?

Finally got in a half-marathon over the weekend, was feeling like a slug just reading about everyone else's achievements. Purposely took a different approach, setting a PW (personal worst) by about 10 seconds. With recent rt shoulder issues, knew that was one way to measure whether I had taken it ea...

Re: Skierg pb thread

My goal this morning was a 2k under 9:04, with splits of 2:16, 16, 15 and < 13. The first 1k wasn't feeling too good and I wasn't quite sure about finishing, but then was feeling better and had a good finish. The result is a new 2k PB of 9:02.3, minus 5.5 seconds but not quite under 9 minutes. I'm ...

Re: Skierg pb thread

Congratulations Paul. I was watching for your 10k. You paced yourself well and did great. Periodically moving my feet, changing my form and position helps me to keep loose and relaxed. My mouth was dry warming up, but sucking on a date for a few minutes helped the dryness disappear. Last night I di...

Hi Paul, thanks. Congratulations for your recent times and new PBs. I'm glad to see you're keeping at it and doing the Tour de Skierg. You will definitely go faster when recovered. Re: Skierg pb thread

First 1/2 marathon @ 1:48:42. Pacing wasn't great, I had more then I should have to drive the pace down the last 1/3, will definitely have to start faster next time, but pleased with my first effort! Congrats Fischer70. 1:48 for a first skierg half marathon? Very solid effort and I'd take that :mrg...

Re: Skierg pb thread

Great work John! Steve- I have rotator cuff issues. My orthopedic told me "no overhead lifting". Haven't had any serious issues since I stopped doing overhead presses. You're right, Kini, I should not be lifting overhead. Occasionally need to rooftop a heavier canoe or kayak, so gets me once in awh...

Re: Skierg pb thread

Steve, thanks much for your generous compliment. :D What issue are you having with your shoulder, and how's the recovery coming? John, you continue to smash records :o and by almost 5 seconds! Will be surprised if the 2000 doesn't follow. Regarding my rt. shoulder, very old rotator cuff tear that w...

Re: Skierg pb thread

Congrats John! Very well done, John! Curious, what is your 5k PR? Just noticed the link to your training log. You put in a lot of meters on the Skierg! With the new year is a transition to an increased running focus but will still be erging. Einstein said everything is relative and from here, your ...

Re: SkiErg 2 Handles

Purchased a Skierg a couple months ago when I injured my knee as I can use it sitting down (Which works great BTW!). However, for longer sessions, it starts to really suck holding onto the handles, have people figured how to put regular nordic handles on the machine so I'm pulling against straps in...
