Re: Forum Flyers

Moving right along. Got in my CTC early this month instead of at the last minute. Happy for now with 7,127m. Not sure if I'll try it again before the end of the month because I really don't like rowing for time instead of distance. I know it shouldn't matter, but it does. :?

Re: Forum Flyers

Hi. Remember me? I've had a busy year and hardly got in any exercise from the end of April (broke my right foot in the backyard when I missed a step and rolled the ankle/foot) until the end of August (Closed down my business, sold out the inventory over a two-month period, donated stuff, filled a 3-...

Re: World Rowing Indoor Championships

I'm hoping to get out there. Must research the costs of a place (with access to an erg) to stay and plane fares.

Re: erging with one leg

After a knee operation a did a similar thing to what Carole did, except that I put a roller skate on the defective leg. I've seen others use a slippery metal or plastic plate under the bad leg to help it slide along the floor. It's better than nothing. Be sure to do plenty of stretching for the lowe...

Re: Need monitor for Model B

eBay or Craigslist is probably your best bet to find someone who's upgraded from PM3/PM4 to a new $180 PM5 and is selling their old monitor. Do you know if there are issues with a PM3 or PM4 that had been on a Model C or Model D working on a Model B? It seems to me that others have had such issues ...

Need monitor for Model B

Anyone got a spare they don't want? The PM1 on my rickety old Model B has given up the ghost. New batteries only last a couple of workouts then go blank. If anyone has a bargain monitor that would work I'd be a buyer. A retrofit PM5 would apparently cost $180, and would undoubtedly be worth it, but ...

Re: Rowing --> Running

I've been rowing now for three months. I feel I've made some strides in conditioning. Next week we are taking a family vacation to California. I'm assuming our condo will not have a rower. I'm also assuming that my wife will want to take advantage of an early beach season, and go for a jog on the b...

Re: How many meters?

Jerry Griffin is a long-standing member of PaddyPower and is an honest and unassuming man. The obvious mistake in his lifetime metres will be down to some other factor than an attempt at deception. Regards, Joe I recently made a mistake by typing too fast and not proofreading. After logging in my 5...

Re: Forum Flyers

Rick, how on earth have you clocked up 515k in 2 days of the WEC? Oy! In my haste I apparently didn't hit the 'tab' button hard enough after logging my 5,100m and the first two digits of my time, 22, got added to the meters making 510,022m. I've got to learn to proofread more often. ...

Re: World Rowing Virtual Indoor Sprints - 1k

Nice job by Rick Bayko with his first place, 3:33.4 70-79 LWT class. Very solid time. Thanks Ed. A nice finish to my best indoor rowing season in several years. It felt like I improved every week from the first race on January 14th. Probably a little extra psyched by moving up to a new age group. B...

Re: LOOKING FOR A TEAM TO JOIN

Live in the U.S., Kansas to be exact. Looking for a team to keep me going, new to the sport. Recovering from hip replacement, was active kayaker, fishing and touring, trying to stay in shape. Have had my "boat" since first of the year, try my first challenge with the mud season. I'm 58 yrs old, a h...

Re: Forum Flyers

Continuous 30’ aside, lot of brass in that run if anyone is wondering. I can imagine adding “ornery.” Can you use rates in the high 20s for 3k+? Wish I could but no horses in wishes. Jack, I have a serious lack of power so I do my best to make up for it with stroke rate. For the CTC and my most rec...

Re: wolverine plan, anyone?

Indeed. It's worth noting that the PDF hosted by Concept 2 titled "The Wolverine Plan" only contains the bare bones of the Wolverine Plan. This document expands on it a fair amount, but if you really want to get the full picture you'd have to read through most the links contained on this page (you'...

Re: Forum Flyers

Best wishes Erik. I hope that it turns out to be something simple that just passes on. CTC this morning. 15' 3741m 2:00.2 15' 3761m 1:59.6 I'd been thinking to start off slightly faster than my 30' SB and try to improve as the month went along, but this proved so tough that it may well be my only at...
