General
Interesting thread. I ran cross country and track in High school and college. Back then I did 4 marathons. The first after my high school track career finished and the weekend before graduation at God's Country Marathon in 3:03 in 198...

I've been rowing for 2 1/2 years now and used to do a fair amount of running (and still hope too). I play soccer every Saturday here in Brazil (when in Rome do as the romans). The extra upper body strength is great when going shoulder to shoulder. My only problem has been the last 5 months I have ex...

FAQ
I would not base my workouts on meters. I would base them on time spent. The initial objective would be to get to 30 minutes of rowing. So you can start off at 10 minutes a row the first week then 15 minutes the second week, then 20 minutes then 30 minutes. Row as slow as you need to make the time g...

You should give more information. What pace do you normally row at? What spm? How long is a normal training run? At what pace?

My advice to you is to stick to longer pieces at a comfortable pace with a higher than normal spm. For example one hour at 2:10-2:12 at 26-27 spm (UT2). Lower spm...

Jeez, a hemispheric-centric series. I'd have to wait six months to row. Notherners are so ignorant. Thomas and Leif,

looks like I have let you guys catch up to me. Unfortunately the last four weeks have not been good. Two calf pulls. I pulled the right one 4 weeks ago playing soccer. I took some rest then cut back on the rowing. And just as that got better, I went on my first run and I ...
