Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Glenn - best wishes with the nonathlon. A family erg - your enthusiasm must have rubbed off on them. Half marathon woes - glad that you didnt suffer an injury when the bungy snapped, (fortunately I was a lot younger when it happened to me in the gym and that I was slowing down after a sprint as I s...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Glenn – good to hear that you are enjoying the ergo. Looks like your favourites are much like mine – aka the middle distance stuff. Mike is a fan of the HR controlled pieces, but I gave up on that years ago and haven’t bothered using a heart monitor since. Like yourself I have found that I can usua...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Finally got the 8 pressups on the 5th set done, just, yesterday :o . Leaving it to next week to try to hit 9. Another 1.5 mile jog in 29 minutes.

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Still trying to get to the magic 8 pressups, Got close ie 5,7, 5, 5, 6 with 2 minute rests (that last set should have nailed it but just couldnt finish). Been for what was about a 1.5 mile jog, (well I was picking both feet off the ground at the same time round our local park). Happy it took about 2...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Its one of those things that sharing a house with other relatives limits what you can do. No shed, but a good idea nevertheless. I think the only way I am going to get a regular workout is go to the park some evenings, and get up early on other days. Just got to wait until I can get back to the gym,...

Re: Verification of non-standard distance on a PM4

Thanks Dougie - once the event is confirmed as happening I will go for the USB cable and Android phone suggestion. I dont know how we are all going to keep our phones charged for very long if this app eats up battery life, but I expect someone has thought of that.

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Well done on keeping some form of fitness regime going Susan - and giving the neighbours a laugh while you're at it. Must be very hard without the equipment that you're used to. Its a shame you didn't pick up Charles' erg when he sadly passed, you must have done a fair few of the meters recorded on...

Verification of non-standard distance on a PM4

I may well end up next spring trying to prove that I have done a "longest continual row" or 24 hours. This wont be on my own erg so dont think I will be able to connect anything to it, and possibly a PM4 monitor. 7 years ago in a similar situation I used a log card and reader. I understand this does...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike – you did great on the Nonathalon last season. Brilliant 6k SB in April for 22:42.1 and that fab 10 x 1min 1r. 500m TT in 1:28.2 – another great SB. I never thought of doing 5 x 2k 2r as a rate pyramid but well done. Flying along on the 8 x 500m 3:30r and yet another SB -30 mins. An expert on ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike - congratulations on getting a bronze in the 1k sprint challenge and also your fantastic 10k time on 14 March for an 8 year best. Nice work on the AWL Pyramid at 20spm and hope you get that desired 31 minute time soon. Only 2 tenths of a second out for the 5 x 2k r2 at 2:00 pace and 1 tenth fo...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike - Brilliantly done on the 2k TT, (you really got into doing this). Impressive 8 x 500m r3:30 too. A leap years day 30 mins of 7728m is a great way to end February. Cracking 1k TT and keeping to .1 drop each year is amazing. Me - 26/2 I did a 250m, 500m, 750m, 1k, 750m, 500m, 250m with a partne...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Marjorie – my DF is 110. I still don’t have a lot of power in the right leg, (not so obvious in 2 legged things but can shift over twice as much with the one legged press on the left hand ie operated side) and don’t expect this to change until after the 2nd hip replacement. Like you I am calming do...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Me – jetting off to Hamburg last Thursday for the marathon , (7th I have done in Germany), was an easy trip out and a nice lol about with a giant hot chocolate to start. Hotel was in a more convenient position that I had expected but just always seems that road work and building work seem to follow...
