Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike – good news that you are feeling back to normal now. What a flyer for the 1 minute. Very close to target for the 2020m, (hopefully you are taking a rest day or 2 after that killer :o ). For me 1k + 5 pace should be a doddle as there isn’t much between 1k and 2k pace in my case, (2:04.3 and 2:0...

Re: I want to join a team!

Liyi I am a member of Sub7 which does have a small presence on this forum but much more active on Facebook as a closed group, (not on that myself as I havent been tempted into social media) so a few of us are still on this forum. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2402882415/ We do welcome members from...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Majorie - indeed perfect weather for OTW and walking. Great news on your 2k TT in 8:08.1 and presumably 999 nonathalon points. B) Best wishes for Paris and Manchester, as well as this weekends local challenges. Super finish to 2019 with a sub-21 min 5k and 1012 nonathalon points. The nonathalon poi...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Not much excitement for Christmas, although I was only cooking for 3 it was quite edible :D 27 Dec - first day gym open after the break and surprisingly busy. Time for a 4 x 5k r3 sub 2:20 pace which I just scraped home at average 2:19.8. It should have been easier than it was but got the right resu...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike well done on getting to the 150k mark for the holiday challenge, (nearly twice as much as me). It would seem there are people out there doing 10k a day minimum – yeah, there are other things in life apart from erging! A mental challenge to keep you interested for the specific number targets, a...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

23 Dec - an unplanned 30 x 250m rest 45 secs at 2:11 pace. What a killer, (as no flying starts), and had to really push it on the last 4 reps. So tired I accidentally slept on the bus home

Merry Christmas everyone and 3 days of non-physical stuff.

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Since I have been back - 16 Dec - had a headache and personal training first so no surprise the 4 mins at 2:04 died after about 2.5 minutes. 19 Dec - fuelled by too much cake and coffee I started the 5k TT with a little too much gusto and died at 4k, (SB attempt out of the window but entered for Fit...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Cologne - weather much like here so time your munchies if outdoor at the Christmas markets which are everywhere. Had a ride on a virtual reality ride into Victorian Cologne, (sort of enjoyed it but made me feel a little queasy). Lindt chocolate museum was more my thing although a little disappointe...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike – Lots of rowing there, and a session nearly every day. Very well done when you have hit your target exactly and a brilliant CTC result, (my go at this madness tonight). Stu – thanks for dropping in. Guests always welcome here. Great work for a well earnt 6:41 at BRIC. PS Don’t think I have do...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Me - yes it was indeed a post-op PB and smack on the promised sub 8:25 target. :D Bronze medal was an unexpected bonus - just depends on who turns up as we were missing 2 out of 6. I liked the 12:35 start as it meant I could get up late, aka 8am, and not rush, (and go out to see "Only Fools and Hor...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Me - 20 mins did happen (just) - nearly got ruined by cheesecake, (shouldnt go hoovering up second helping of cake at work at 4pm). Had to postpone this until 8:30pm but got it done nicely - 4616m and 2:09.9 average. Hopefully on the day (14 Dec) I can find a bit more at the finish. :D Mike, Lindsa...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Half Marathon - done it for the 4th time this season. Started December with a 1:39.06 which is 25 secs off 2 weeks back and 2:20.9 pace. Never dropped below 2:24 pace so controlled it better this time. Really wanted to to sub 1:39 but couldnt find the finish, Tonight - 3 days on I should be doing a...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Lindsay - great stuff on the bikeerg. I hvent tried this machine - is it much different from a Wattabike? Great work on the 3:24.5 for 1k challenge. I see you sneaked in at under 3 minutes on adjusted time, (right behind Mike and way ahead of my effort). Mike – I admire your persistence with the bl...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Oops - dropped off the radar again. 14 Nov – 1k in 4:08.6 which is a SB by 0.9 secs. A great improvement and useful for Fitness Matters challenge. 16 Nov – half marathon in 1:39:31.7. A test run for a potential marathon in Hamburg next February to see if I can stick the pace. First hour went by at a...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Me; 6 Nov - did that 60 minutes I promised. First 35 minutes done at 2:16 pace and then slowed down a tad to finish on average 2:16.5 pace and 13186m. Spm 26, 44m improvement on seasons best. B) 7 Nov - kept this short and sweet as a mainly upper body strength session 9 Nov - 8848m at 2:13.5 pace f...
