Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Forgot about reaching 14 million metres on Friday - happy days. Trying to reach 15 million before I get 20 years in my logbook, (12 months and 13 days to go).

PS Can confirm that I am 15 out of 47 in the virtual race that I entered. Happy with this.

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Me - I have had rather a good week. About time. Mon - having figured out that the "Head of the Charles Virtual" should be 4702m I had to rush to the gym to get in for my booked time of 6pm and get stuck in. Seem to have staying power and no aches meant I went sub 2:12 pace for 20:41.1. Steady throu...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Forgot to say that I have been hammering the Wattbike when I havent been rowing. 2 x 5k with 5 minute rest. Last week got to 35.3kph average. Not sure how that translates into being good or not but is around 200 Watts which is somewhat faster than I could go on the ergo. Going to be hard to improve ...

Re: New 60-69 Lwt 100k World Record

Rod - what a superstar, and Carol for all her assistance in this new World Record. Massive achievement and hope you can sit down comfortably now. I cant do 5k at that pace any more.

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Since the last time I posted I haven’t had a lot to shout about, (no excuse for not posting but life is busy at the moment). Having mentioned that I seemed to have tweaked my abs I seemed to have an ongoing saga with SI joints and round the un-operated hip, (not ready for the op and now mums health ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Glenn - Sounds like a great family experience was had walking on the Essex Way virtual relay. Your exploits on orienteering are like mine – I managed to run nearly a half marathon some years ago on what should have been an 8 mile outing, (got a bit worrying as even though it was June it was beginni...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Better 3300m x 2 at 27spm and 2:22 pace. Only 3 sessions on the erg this week due to ab/back stiffness. I have entered the Exeter and "Head of the Charles" madness which are both ergo participation that you can upload.

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike - I hope that you continue to stay fit and strong, especially in you very physical job. Happy 63rd birthday from a while back and well done on your sub 7 minute 2k and August C2CTC. 100m TT in 16.1 secs is phenomenal. Doing great on the palindromes and other similar workouts. Glenn - 9 seconds...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

It has been a long time since I have been on here – too long. I have been erging again and started to get into a regular 4 days a week gym visits whenever possible. The first couple of weeks felt really weird. With only 50 minutes per session, (you can now do 2 x 50 mins as it is quiet), I have time...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

oh goody - 5k is great for me. Even better that I dont need a home machine attached to computer to enter. Not worrying about being a LWT in 4 weeks. Best time this season is 22:34 but confident I can hammer out better than that with more post lockdown practise.

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Just a quick visit from me tonight so wont be able to respond to others tonight. 1st 2 sessions on the erg for over 4 months. As we are on 50 mins session and that includes getting ready and loo break the aim is to put a lot of effort into a short time, (4kg over LWT and need to hit that as a priori...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Me - was hoping we would have some news on our gym reopening but not to date. Just trying to get 9 home sessions a week in and have been taking a little more interest in keeping the weight down - a good idea whenever the next race is. I seem to have plateaued at pressups and although I can kinda jo...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Richard – fabulous 2k in the virtual championships and precision pace keeping it consistent through the first 1500m. Never thought someone as tall as you be cranking out 30spm, (I must be slow getting my backside up and down the slide as I can just about do this and am only 1.62m tall) . Glad...
