Well, my friend, I would settle for 250s or 1 minutes for the short stuff as 100s @drags of 200 done on a regular basis IMO are too risky with regard to injury. Got ma best erg phase finished with an injury. Important to stay healthy as each restart is a mess.
Cheers
Hardy

Re: Ergo shoes and ergo gloves
I used to use gloves but with the right grip and hardened skin they do more harm than good. To me anyway.
Re: TT Advice
If the 5k @ 2:13.2 was a 95%-effort your short-term goals are realisic and probably good to go for negative splitting. Good luck!

Re: Where do i start .....
Great work so far Smee. With regard to bad feelings due to comparisions between now and earlier proficiency on the erg I have the same problem as you have. I started on the erg at the end of season 2014/2015 and got really into it in season 2015/2016 with almost 3mm total and a massive improvement o...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
After only 500k this season I decided to go for the crazy bear challenge in order to have an anchor point to try to build up that old engine again. Managed 5HMs since 12th of November, #6 scheduled for tonight.

Re: Performance dropped massively
in Addition what was mentioned by the others there also might be a lingering infection that your body has to deal with. You might want to do a bloodwork check to rule that out.

Feel more wasted than I thought after the marathon. Yesterday a slow 1hr, followed by another one today. Engine keeps to start the dying-process after 20min or so.

Re: Summer vacation - what does one do
Vacation on the beach - definetely swimming. And as a reward more moisture to be inserted inside the body afterwards. A week is at the edge of being noticed in training (IMO) but a couple of hard 1hr-swims are going to help with that

Re: First Time Marathon
Hi, I just chime in with my experience: I did 3 marathons so far, the first one just to do one, a second one which is a PB in my signature line (season 2016). For the first one I prepped by doing HMs and a couple of 6x5ks but still had fairly bad trouble with all kinds of aches. The second one hurt ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Utilized 2 day round trip to different Locations as a taper to go for a marathon today. Target was a 2:10-average which I was able to meet including two short breaks for energy gel, half a banana and a sip at the 21k and the 32k-markers. Ready to fall into my bed now.

Probably not enough work for the luxurious 5' rests. r27 next. We shall see. Going to knock off 2K @ r25 first. Baby steps.
