Re: Error message: the sensor wire is damaged

While there is some possible evidence that the first reboot after upgrade it may produce a false message, if the message continues to be displayed each time you power up the monitor and try to set up a workout then probably the wire is damaged. Depending on the hardware version in your PM5 and which...

Re: PM5 Issue

I'd like to modify my statement as I left out a few words I usually use: [my] Best recommendation is to get the smallest (1G-16G) name brand USB 2.0 flash drive you can get. USB 3.0 may work, but they typically power hogs and will drain battery and/or cause a "USB overload". Dexterdom: I agree, you ...

Re: PM5 Issue

Hi folks, I just got a USB flash drive from a customer who was having trouble and was kind enough to send the troubled drive to me. What we discovered (again) is that not all flash drives are created equal. This one in particular would work for a few seconds after being powered up, then it became no...

Re: New Concept2 Utility and Firmware for PM5

ANT+FE-C is fully implemented in v22. To use on a per-session basis: More/Turn Wireless On/Or connect with ANT+. For detailed documentation for developers, or to turn this transmission on automatically when the monitor turns on, please contact me directly for information. The major new features and ...

Re: New Concept2 Utility and Firmware for PM5

All: While I don't mind the responses here on the forum, the best way to report is using the 'feedback' button where we will get some additional information about what happened and your computer's environment. If you don't use a Win/Mac email client (ie you use webmail), copy and paste the draft ema...

Re: New Concept2 Utility and Firmware for PM5

Thanks for the feedback. The new Concept2 Utility 7.00 and higher does upload split data, but not stroke-by-stroke data. You can copy/paste the contents from the email client you don't use into whatever email client you do use and send it. The diagnostic file that was already sent may be helpful, bu...

New Concept2 Utility and Firmware for PM5

For owners of PM5 for the Indoor Rower and the SkiErg, Concept2 is pleased to release new firmware with both bug fixes and new features. One big new feature is "Calorie" based workouts. If you have had problems with your monitor (especially "USB Overload" issues), please consider trying the new firm...

Re: Garmin watch and PM5

I don't believe the ANT+FE protocol passes on the HR data, but I'd have to look at it again. We've implemented the spec fully and you can read it too by going to www.thisisant.com and signing up as an adopter. Unlike Bluetooth Smart, with ANT you can capture the HR data on the watch at the same time...

Re: Garmin watch and PM5

Current PM5 firmware should work: More/Turn Wireless ON/Or Connect with ANT+ and the older watches FR60/70/210/310/610/910 (I'm making that list from memory, don't hold me to it!) should work. Newer watches (920, 230, 235, vivoactive, fenix3, etc. google 'ConnectIQ compatible devices') are all Conne...

Re: OSX El Capitan

I'm not understanding. The installation of the Concept2 Utility 6.99 on the Mac will not fix anything with RowPro. You should NOT ever run RowPro and the Concept2 Utility at the same time. The Concept2 Utility (not to be confused with anything inside RowPro or the DigitalRowing Logbook) does not for...

Re: OSX El Capitan

Well, it's a little more complicated than that... but what you say has much truth. The LogCards are just I2C memory chips (typically Atmel). Plain and simple memory, no cryptography, etc. "SmartCards" in their true form (ie the chip on your access card, bank card, etc.) are all processor based and h...

Re: OSX El Capitan

Concept2 has been informed by Athena that they will not support the Athena ASE IIIe card reader on Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan) and later operating systems. I'm sure this was a hard decision for them but likely driven by technical limitations that the OS imposes.

Re: PM5 - lines across monitor

Contact Concept2 USA if you are in the USA, and your local dealer/re-seller/agent if elsewhere to swap the PM5. The LCD panel itself can also be replaced separately if you're handy (instructions are on our web site) and we'll gladly send a replacement LCD panel.

Re: OSX El Capitan

For those customers that have Athena readers and have updated to El Capitan OSX 10.11, you will need to reinstall the Athena driver. OSX's new System Integrity Protection may prevent the Athena driver from being installed. If you need an Athena driver installed, instructions can be found on the web ...

Re: OSX El Capitan

This would be an issue with the driver for Omnikey. First step would be to download the Omnikey (or if you are a reader of this thread and using Athena, same thing applies) driver from their web site and install. Reboot, and try again. If this does not work, please write to me directly and also put ...
