Fat Boys. I have had a PM telling me that some people are questioning my CTC time. That is fair enough and their right to do so. I think it is only fair that I remove myself from the CTC for now and arrange for a screen shot of my next attempt (which should be quicker). I have always thought it woul...

After months of specialised weights and sprint training I made the mistake of doing a 2K test. This really does go to prove that each distance requires specific training to get the best results. I totally destroyed myself by 1200m and had to crawl in with a time of 6.07.9. I will be having ano...

Had my first go at this with the 2 mins rest. The extra 30 seconds recovery makes a big difference. 1.19.7 r38 1.19.7 r38 1.19.7 r38 1.18.9 r38 This was a controlled effort and I could have really hit the last one hard but realised that it would not matter how fast I went on the last one. Target wil...

Hi FB Team mates. A great showing in the CTC. Did we get 6th pace in the final standings? B) This next challenge also suits my sprint training like last months, so I am happy to take part, it would be great if we could again post a full team result. I have been doing a lot of 500x4 sessions but with...

FB's I have always said that anyone that takes part in challenges should all do so equally. I have made the point before that people using slides for the CTC challenges have an unfair advantage and it should not be allowed in my view. This being the case I feel it is not right for me to enter a time...

Yes, I am doing what Dwayne did to a point. But, I have only posted a time on the CTC thread; I am not as yet claiming any World Records. I am also not logging any of my short distance rows on the C2 ranking system. I have pulled the fastest 1000m ever for a 40+ year old (that I know of) and the 2nd...

Like PaulS says, I don't think I need to go higher than 220 drag when doing these sprints. PaulS, what would you say is the ideal drag for sprinting? Somebody mentioned that erg tampering is not allowed, I have custom made foot plates (plastic ones with the holes in) for my erg as my feet do not fit...

FB5 I used a drag of 195 for the 666m, it is the highest I can get on the machine I use. When I did the 1.12 500m I did it on a different erg which had a drag of 217. If I can get back to this erg before the end of the month I will do a 666m on it. I don't think I will make Lwt for the FB's am weigh...

Nice going PaulS. I will go faster by the end of the month, it will be in the 1.16 area if not 1.15's.

Nice to hear from you FB1. I don not have any plans to row any 2000m races at this time, that may change though. All my focus has been on short course rowing using the erg. I have put on many kilos due to the amount of weight training I have been doing over the last 6 months, this has given me a lot...

FB1 and other Fat Boys CTC

FB's it has been a very long time since I have posted on the UK CTCsite. As this months challenge falls in line with my sprinting aims I have had a number of attempts at the 666m distance, are any other FB's going to row it this month? PaulS, do you know my password for the CTC as you have put my ti...

PaulS wrote:Ah, so it's not really traveling along the floor? A couple of strategically placed 20kg weight plates should stop the lift.
I have had to move it to butt up against a wall to stop it sliding across the floor.

PaulS
The front of the erg is lifting of the floor when I put the power down, this is wasted force/energy.
