Thanks for sharing! I've not seen this specific article, but it does reference many excellent references. I prefer rowing to weight training, but actually feel better when I do a bit of both. I'll keep on the lookout for other articles to share.

half marathon

Hi Cindy and all,
I did my first half marathon of the season yesterday. My time stinks compared to last year, but I'm not too sore. Have not ever tried a full marathon but hope to try it by the end of summer. Best of luck to all the ducks!

New to Ducks team

Hello all, I have spent time looking at many of the introductions and feel Ducks in a Row is the right place for me! Had my Model D 2 years-took about 8 months off due to skewed priorities thinking I was just too busy. Exercise is a necessary discipline and I do love rowing as long as I just keep go...

poor excuses

Hello all, First row today since Sept 13-unexpected problems with a very ill child (now all better) plus a major personal project to complete caused every spare moment to be spent caregiving or writing. Afraid to get on the scales, and diet went to h---. Glad to see NurseBobbi back, and the team row...

Mike, You are so right! Vegan is a strong term, and I do realize that's not really what the China Study supports in total. It's just so different than we're used to eating, and the results are very convincing. Anyway, as I say, we are all eating better thanks to the information you have posted, and ...

Row pain row gain team mate

Hi Artmom and all, Just FYI, I've been slow to post and posting slow times. Finally under 48 minutes for the 10000 today. Not even close to my best time last season. Oh well. Wow, a trip to Venice- I envy you and your family. I got a bit of a boost when C2 awarded me a T-shirt for the Summer Sweeps ...

Weights

Thanks Mike, The upstairs room where the rower lies is quite hot in a house with no central air, so going to the cooler basement to lift some weights after rowing may work out quite well. I just have to take off the heavy weights my son currently uses. I'll give it a try. I did manage to put in a ha...

Welcome mikdlay24,
This group has been a great motivator for me. You might want to look at other forums as there are some great weight loss, diet and rowing tips. Everyone has been very helpful, so don't hesitate to ask questions, especially if you're new to rowing. Best of luck!

daily row

Hi Andy99 and all, I row about 5 times a week, but have to be out of town frequently in July/August, so won't always be able to row. I do enjoy walking, swimming and bicycling. I need to include weights, but have not yet been disciplined enough to do this on a regular basis. My times are not as good...

Welcome back Rod/Rod Jr. and thanks Mike!

It's great to see you rowing again Rod Jr. and Sr. You two keep piling on the meters! Can anyone keep up with Bert?? Wow! And thanks for the McDougall web site. I've recommended the China Study to friends and family and we've slowly been changing our diet at home and I feel better. I've managed to l...

great going

Keep up the good work! I've stopped logging my weight loss, because I'm not loosing, but not gaining. It's fun to see how others are doing, so don't stop posting. I'm back on the diet, and it seems much easier this go round. So, as of today I'm 201, down from 240 about a year ago. You are doing grea...

Team leader

Well, you're the team leader now. Great work. I am trying to play 'catch-up' but doubt I'll ever get my meters up as high as those of you at the top. I hope Rod Sr. is doing well and wedding congratulations are in order for Rod Jr. Thanks to all for keeping me motivated! I've stoppped logging my 'we...

Row pain row gain team mate

Hello all,
FYI, Rod Sr. is at the TOP of the list on our team with the most meters rowed thus far. He has posted a message that he will be out for some weeks due to a kidney stone. Members of the team may wish to send him words of support during his recovery. My best to all!

You'll probably get a lot of replies from those who really like rowing. I love it. But, it's not for everyone. In my mind, the C2 is a bargain as far as fitness equipment, absolutely the best machine for the money. Durable, compact, and works a lot of muscle groups at once. I'm prone to back problem...

Good to hear from you again! I logged a half marathon last week, but don't know if I'll find the time to try for a full marathon before the end of the month. Life is busy just now, but the real reason is because it's scary! I was pretty tired after my last half marathon. I've been pushing to keep my...
