Re: FISA Age Brackets C2 Open Women

The times I have are from the last 10 years of entries in the C2 records. I am sure that there many people who have done better and never entered their times in to the C2 log. I did not take the time to track those times done. These tables are limited to entries in C2 Logs.

Re: World Record Age Brackets for Older Rowers

I would help research this, but it really has to be done by C2. I would be glad to write a SQL query that would pull the data out of the database, but they have someone who could do that and integrate into the web page. I have pulled out data for the fastest 2K for men and women from age 5-99 going ...

World Record Age Brackets for Older Rowers

While the 2K has age brackets every five years, the other world records age brackets are ten years wide. For older rowers a year or two makes a big difference. I would like to see world records posted for five year intervals for all ranking distances. Think about it, once you are 82, you have to mak...

Re: New rower looking for advice.

All the advise about form is the first priority. Have no doubt that you can improve your leg strength for biking by working on the erg. You will notice it in hills in particular. I use the Eddie Fletcher (see Fletcher Sport Science) workout. You will not improve as much doing the same 4 x 1K at low ...

Re: 10 sec off 2km trail

Another factor to think about is your splits. Many people do negative splits, 1:41, 1:40, 1:39, 1:39 might be a target for a faster 2K or 1:41, 1:40, 1:39 for each 600 meters then do what ever you can for the last 200. It keeps you from building up as much of an oxygen debt early in the row and dyin...

Re: Marathon Strategy

I've done a couple of marathons under 3 hours, one thing I learned was that good padding for the seat is critical, so is getting some protein along with the sports drinks. I have used the Hammer Perpetua, but there are lots of choices. Water along is not sufficient for me.

Re: Realistic improvement in older athletes?

I am the same height and weight as you and am a couple of years older. I have not rowed under 6'40" but I have worked at it. I think you need to work on form, get a good rowing coach so you can avoid stress injuries and get efficient; strength, work on leg presses in particular; and endurance, focus...

Re: PM3 or PM4 simulation for software development

I tried recording the sound (clicks) while rowing and then playing them back into the PM during testing. I was unsuccessful, probably the playback voltage was too low so maybe doing it through an amplifier would work. I didn't have a scope and couldn't measure the voltage of the clicks. But I think ...

Re: resell value of C2 rower

I tried to buy a used one several years ago. I looked on ebay and craigslist for a few months. The local machines went for new or more than new prices (covering shipping). Once someone put on up for cheap, but it was gone minutes after the post. You might get lucky and find a low priced used one, bu...

Re: Can the PM4 store total calories along with cal/hour?

The simple view of the formula is 300 Cal + real calories at the wheel. The 300 Cal is the estimation of how many calories it takes an average person to push themselves back and forth with no effort put into spinning the fan. It does not take into account body weight, so it would underestimate for a...

Re: Can the PM4 store total calories along with cal/hour?

Displaying total calories would be useful to many of the people who use a C2 in their local gym. Most of these people care about calories burned. (I look at the display settings left by the previous user) There is no way most people could look at 680 cal/hr and 17:38.2 and do the arithmetic for tota...
