Re: What is “Elite” on the RowErg?

By way of comparison, here are the February 2023 US Rowing team testing resukts, for 2k: https://www.row2k.com/results/resultspage.cfm?UID=12FD367CDDDF9B14363A201BF2D10009&cat=6 They're totally out of context: there's no way to know from inspection who's a LW and who is a HW (I happen to know who so...

Re: :30/:30 intervals beneficial?

For a contrary, evidence-based view, noting the efficacy of short sprintervals in running and citing a study of them in rowing, see https://www.researchgate.net/publication/12103562_Interval_training_for_performance_A_scientific_and_empirical_practice_Special_recommendations_for_middle-_and_long-dis...

Re: Seat grinds to halt?

Simple check - have someone else of similar proportions sit on the erg and slide back and forth. If the seat seizes up, it's a mechanical issue. If it doesn't, it's you.

Re: [In]decent Intervals

Haven't posted in a month. which more or less reflects my semi-lockdown feelings about training hard.... I continue to slog away in a desultory manner on the ErgBike, fighting heat, humidity, and bad pollen counts (allergies). Probably the highlight of the last 30 days has been my workout on 8/6: 10...

You have to host them on some open 3d party server, and use the [img] and [/img] tags to bracket the url link to the image.

Re: Sensing Error

The erg has been moved one time, maybe 6 feet horizontally, in the last 7 months, and the monitor arm doesn't get folded. Visual inspection of the cable reveals no pinch points. Plus it works just fine - for one session - if I remove/replace the batteries w/o moving anything else.

Sensing Error

Cheers Dougie, C2Scott if you're lurking -- all of a sudden I've started getting the 'sensor wire may be damaged' error code when powering up the monitor. I'm going to assume it's a firmware issue as discussed in this thread https://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=417663#p417663 I'm theoretically up...

Re: [In]decent Intervals

More BikeErg today, cycling in 64% humidity that felt like a swamp. Reprise of yesterday: 12 x 1' on 30"....

Not too horrible a result, conditions notwithstanding.

Re: [In]decent Intervals

More or less the same since my last post here a month ago. Restrictions have been eased in Poland, but as I'm still in the high-risk pool on account of the compromised immune system nothing much has changed for me. I did manage to win my age group in the recently completed BikeErg [4k] Sprints, with...

Re: [In]decent Intervals

Meh last 3 weeks. Lockdown has continued, pretty much, and I've pretty much stayed on the ErgBike rather than the rower. Weather has played a role in that as well: for some perverse reason, days when I've scheduled rower workouts have turned out to be too windy/rainy/punctuated by lightning to work ...

Re: [In]decent Intervals

Meh last two weeks. I managed to get up to 100 x 30"/30" on the BikeErg on 5/16, the first 50 at 1:38.5 pace and the last 50 at 1:34.7 pace (average 1:36.6 pace); somewhere in there (5/14) I also tried for an OCD workout and managed 57 consecutive 30" reps at 1:39.6 pace out of a 66-rep session.... ...

Re: WRIC goes Virtual

To add to the previous couple of posts: FISA and C2 between them also need to come to some understanding regarding possible world records. At the moment, "All static indoor rower 2000 meter record-breaking times must be rowed at a Concept2 sanctioned indoor rowing event with witnesses present." My u...
