Model B PM1/Rollers
I just upgraded my Model B. Purchased the PM-5 for it, along with the newer rollers for the front feet. The PM-1 still works just fine, but one of the 2 mounting tabs for the cage is busted (came to me in this shape when I bought it off eBay many years ago). It will still mount and hold onto the cag...

Re: Yet Another Model B Project
Look through this section of the forum and search for posts on Model B; there are several posts about these models, including some very recent ones. I have one, and just ordered the PM-5 last week for it. Also got the flex foot upgrade (my wife is interested in trying this, and this upgrade will mak...

Re: Drag Factor
I just ordered a PM-5 for my model B today; I'll be interested to see DF on mine. I cut some roofing paper up to make a cover to surround the area outside the damper and the circumference of the cage. It REALLY made a difference! I'll pull it back off once the PM-5 is installed, and get some DF read...

Re: Model B refresh
If you have some roofing paper around, or some inner tubes, you can make your own wind damper and get most of your cage "enclosed", in order to be able to lower the Drag Factor more like the newer models (which have enclosed cages). I just did this a month or so ago, and really like it.

Re: Model B refresh
I would definitely replace shock cord and seat rollers. If I remember correctly, I had to pull the chain on the model B I bought several years ago and lube it and "work" out the stiff spots. I also ended up buying the rollers for the front base, to make it easy to move the rower around. I was lucky ...

Re: Model B Seat Upgrade
I'd also recommend replacing all the seat rollers, since they are still supporting this model with parts. I bought a used B several years ago, and did this, and it is still working quite well. I like the seat, and would not replace mine.

Re: Wanted monitor for Model A Rower
What about a PM1? I may soon have one off a model B.

Re: Aortic Aneurysm
I would ask the doc to be a LOT more specifc than "yes, you can exercise". As in, how gentle or hard can you go with aerobic stuff like the Concept 2 (how hard and long would the doc allow on the heart rate)? What about anaerobic stuff (also Concept 2, weight training, etc)? I'd want more specifics ...

Re: Used Model B worth it?
I get what you're saying, Carl, and you're right. If it's a matter of $$, but you have no mechanical skills and an A or B comes up for cheap, you'd better be sure it's already in good shape before you spend. Kind of like buying either a used car or trying to get into a classic vehicle on the cheap; ...

Re: Used Model B worth it?
Did you mount the PM5 where the PM1 was mounted on these B's? I have a used B that I bought off eBay over 13 years ago. The PM1 is still going strong, as is the rest of the machine; just needs to be used more often and consistently. I'm thinking of buying it a PM5 for Xmas this year, and would want ...
