Re: Biceps won't grow but forearms will

Don't get me wrong looking ripped on some blokes suits them. But something about his look thats ugly IMO. His biceps look bizarre to me when he flexes. That look those who take the cattle growth stuff get. His biceps look alot better than mine. The phrase "do you even lift?" comes to mind with mine...

Re: Rowing for aerobic base to compliment running

I don't think it really matters unless you think you'd get bored on the ergo. It is a very time efficient workout though. I'd say initially at least you want to just slowly ramp up the steady state meters on the ergo so as it doesn't impact the running too much. Why can't you run more? Surely that'd...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

ERGO: 5K@1:51.5 (of late I am doing lots of 5K sessions RPE:7-9 sort of range, 18:30-18:59 sort of time and feeling the benefit)
WEIGHTS: flatbench, hex-deads, squats, shrugs, zcurls, sidelaterals, seated row

Project "mini-cut" has seen a slight reduction in bellyfat. Current weight 77.5kg.

Re: Potentially a stupid question about pacing

So if 5K pace is 2:05 then 5K + 1 = 2:06

...that's it.

Re: Does anyone train THAT hard?

I think I have only really pushed myself to close to my limits when I did my ultra distances. As there were definite targets week after week I had no option but to achieve them when I previously would have wimped out. I think it's easier to train/race hard the longer the distance because you can us...

I myself, combine row, ski and weights. Which I find tough enough. Volume wise I average 30k row, 30 ski and 2/3 sessions weights. Thats sounds pretty easy, but thats not how percieve it.
What happens when you try to push beyond that?

Re: Does anyone train THAT hard?

trying not to race my training and build aerobic base...... I think alot of people simply don't do enough volume in order to warrant most of that to be base. IMO they'd be better off doing as many of their sessions at a more intense level. Obviously it's all a balancing act, but an adage I often qu...

Does anyone train THAT hard?

Not a flippant question. I certainly don't. It's so hard to get further gains once you've settled into your comfort zone of intensity you deem OK and volume you feel you can fit into your life. Once you get newbie gains done it seems most people find their level and that's it. For example, lately I'...
