Re: 100m MAX: first few strokes

I bet orthopedic surgeons, chiropractors and back specialists love to see it when this sort of thread pops up - stuff like this is guaranteed to result in extra business for them... I suspect you are being somewhat flippant given the tone of some of your other posts and your disinterest in the perf...

Re: Weight Categories

ahh I'm not surprised it has been discussed before. I wil browse the forums And yes, I can easily be a leightweight. But then its the same issue in terms of unfair comparisons, but now I have the advantage. Though I should point out people 10-15kg less then me can certainly leave me for dead. If yo...

Re: Weight Categories

Go on a diet and lose 0.5kg? You're LWT.

And yes, it would make sense but I suppose it shadows the rowing LWT/HWT division and I v much doubt that'll change any time soon.

100m MAX: first few strokes

Tried 100m flat out again today and got 15.8s (which would've been a PB but it got rounded up to 15.9s on the memory recall which is what I always go by). The average was 1:19.5/500m and I saw plenty of 1:17s, 1:18s and a LP PB of 1:16. BUT....it would obviously seem that those first few strokes the...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

So a next time, do not set 32 min on the pm, set 10k. If you feel good, you stop at 9k in. :? This is the same thing EXCEPT for the fact you always have the OPTION to do your 35 every time. Not a bad idea. The only downside with this approach is in the back of your mind you may be cognizant (spelli...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

https://i.postimg.cc/cKNMBwG4/IMG-20200704-081856-318.jpg I did a 30 min test this morning just to see what happened, with a view to easing off when it got unbearable. That happened at about 20 mins but I couldn't seem to slow down and this was a battle for the last 10 mins. I fully expected to see...

Re: Rowing and Cycling Watts

I hated having a bike that was useless for anything apart from one very specific application. C'mon, you can never have too many bikes. ;) you definitely lose watts in the TT position. Sure, because of the tighter hip angle but you'd be surprised how close you can get the two power levels IF you RE...

Re: Rowing and Cycling Watts

Way off IMO. There is no way I could hold my ergo 2K power on the bike for 20mins let alone an hour. If the two values more equal I'd say have a close look at ergo technique. :D I think morphology plays a role, here. You're 80kg, and that 2k power would be 330w. You also have a lot of upper body ma...

Must say and just my reading of it but there are a lot of "maybe/can/limited/needs more work/shown in animal studies" weasel words for mine
sure...do your own research....make up your own mind...my experience may be different from anyone else's.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I haven't done a hard 10k for about six months or maybe longer Yeah, as an alternative to a workout at the right pace for 30-35mins....do a hard 10K. Do another...make it a regular thing. How you feel on the day and during the session will vary and then one day you'll be someway into one and feel g...

https://i.postimg.cc/qt3VKf9B/IMG-20200702-081631-972.jpg Appearances can be very deceptive. I had zero motivation today but I have got enough discipline to just switch on auto pilot. The only bit of 'fun' I had was the sardonic laugh I had to myself when I missed it by one metre. HR was really ave...
