Re: Mud season madness 22

I'm 4 weeks out from my 2nd bout with COVID, and I am really hoping I can fight through the fatigue, I've done this challenge 3 years straight now. 46:28.3 - 2:19.4/500m Felt good to be back on the erg. My heart definitely isn't ready to go hard right now though. Good luck. Don't let your ego dicta...

Re: Mud season madness 22

My first 10k down. Went to a local gym for the first time, they had a beat up C2 with a PM3 that I could not get to show the verification code, no matter how many times I pressed the 4th button. I'm 4 weeks out from my 2nd bout with COVID, and I am really hoping I can fight through the fatigue, I've...

Re: Holly's journey

Nobody has asked about your Erg settings, and I've noticed you've learned different things on the PM5 from other posters, and I'd like to add another useful item to the list for you: Drag Factor What number do you have the little "damper" arrow set on for your machine, where the wheel spins? This n...

Re: Garmin sync to Concept 2 logbook

I know it's possible to use ErgData to record a row and it can then be synced from the Logbook to Garmin. However, using this method means you get no training status on Garmin. I know there is also the ErgIQ app for Garmin connect, but it's not really required on Garmin devices now as Garmin themse...

Re: Cardiovascular quirks

As a life-long exercise-induced asthmatic - I can attest to some interesting dynamics with breathing and HR%. I've gone 12+ minutes straight @ 185-190bpm (32m, 175lbs, 195bpm rowing max HR) and felt obviously tired at the end, but felt like my breathing was great, and that I could continue to suffer...

Re: Workout to Garmin

Hello everyone, I am new to the Concept...we finally got through the waitlist to get our own rower this winter. I've run into an issue today that I just can't solve myself and other FAQ's just aren't answering the question. 1My objective is to get today's workout onto my Garmin account. When I went...

Re: Drive-to-recovery clunk

Thank you for the feedback, Ombrax. As you suspected, the issue was the pulley system (rather than the seat or the clutch) and very easy to solve. The plastic cover under the frame was not seated well. It was sitting ~1cm high, on top of the small guide screws. The chain in operation wasn't touchin...

Re: KREW seems promising for Android

All of my issues with 'stability' ended up stemming from my PM5 firmware not being completely up to date- I bought my erg with the PM5 back in 2014 I believe, not sure if that's 1st gen or not. That is a first gen PM5. Current firmware is V30. https://www.concept2.com/service/monitors/pm5/firmware ...

Re: KREW seems promising for Android

I really like KREW and used it since it was first available and the developers are really nice. But as they developed more features and made it more stable it actually got less stable for me so I gave up. I have a first generation PM5, not sure if that's the issue. Right now I use AK Rowing on my G...

Re: Pushup 21 day Challenge - advice please

For certain - wrist issues can definitely be a concern with high volume pushups.

I may have missed it - but make sure you have some sort of pushup bar - this will help with wrists at least, being able to set the wrists in a neutral position is a major pain relief in the long run.

Re: Introducing myself, with a few questions

Hello, Got an erg at the beginning of March to cope with the premature end of the cross-country ski season and home confinement. Clocked in over 500k since then mostly based on the Pete Plan, and it seems the easy technique-based gains have been made by now and progress is starting to level off. I ...

Re: Regarding the “fat loss zone heart rate” myth, and possible advice for people trying to lose fat

Low Hf work is very suited for burning fat, its aerobic, its can be done in high volume, it is easy to recover from. Bodybuilders often just walk in contest prep. Not for nothing. High intensity, does burn more energy, but needs much more glycogen, can,t be done in high volume and takes long to rec...
