Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

6k again today instead of a scheduled steady paced 30min session. The plan was to sit on 2:03 @ r23, but 1k in i scrapped that and just rowed free flowing for a bit more challenging workout :) The end result was 6k @ 2:00.7 - r24 - 24:08.5 (df130) Very happy with it, especially as i did feel tired o...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Rest day yesterday and was feeling pretty fresh this morning. I usually schedule a 30r20 the day after a rest day because its one of my more dreaded workouts. My average for last week was 1:53.5 so that's where I decided to start things off. Was hoping that I could keep dropping the split times sli...

Re: 60 000 m a week is killing me

I put 1/16" adhesive backed hard rubber sheet under the flexfoot, big improvement for me, keeps the loose flexfoot from turning by adding some friction under it, and it reduces the angle of the foot stretcher. Surely by reducing the angle of the foot stretcher can't be a good thing!!! You're puttin...

Almost certainly showing my ignorance here but....where's the fan cage?
the fan cage is located at the rear of the rower on the lower left side.

Re: 24 week Pete Plan

For general fitness you don't even need to follow any plans. Just make up your own rows. For example a steady paced 30mins @ r20 will get you fit!!! And just mix it up a bit with say 5k done at a more intense pace, and work out a balance with harder sessions followed with steadier sessions. But most...

Re: 60 000 m a week is killing me

That weekly volume is not too much generally tbh. I was doing about 70-80k a week at one time but never felt totally trashed from it. I only cut down because i prioritized muscle building with weights as a more important goal. How are your rest days spent? do you get good amounts of deep sleep etc....

Re: GB Olympic Training in Spain for 2020 Tokyo

Still, that's quite of a bit of pizza and beer - you might be able to do it for a few days, but the true talent is being able to handle that sort of tough training regime day in, day out over the long term. The only way to know if you are that talented is to give it a go and see... As an Olympic ro...

Re: New rower - What to do?

Yep shooting the slide!!!!! Obviously this is all new to you, nothing happens instantly. The rowing stroke takes time to master, but once you get properly into the swing it's a great movement.

You look in decent shape, and suited for rowing.

Best of luck, and have fun.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Today's training 30:00 @ 2:04.9 - r21 - 7201m (df130) The main targets for this session were 7200m at rate 21, though the final couple splits did show up r22. I'm happy enough though, and certainly a good workout :) I finished with some warm down stretches of the back, hammies, quads, hip flexors, a...
