Re: Is this normal?
@CaseyClarke...your experience, and those of many like you who have posted on the forum, actually swayed me completely away from buying a Concept 2 BikeErg. I couldn’t stand the bearings clunking or thumping. Question: Since the issue may be a version 1.0 design issue, what will you and other owner...

Re: Is this normal?
Bike just arrived. Makes a thumping sound every rotation. Speed or resistance makes no difference. Support suggested making some adjustments but with no effect. Just wondering if this is normal. Thank you. Do I Unfortunately you’re one of many people affected by the dreaded knocking / clunking nois...

Re: Adjusting resistance - extending handle
I wonder whether the displayed power and pace is still accurate when you change the damper setting while in motion. On a RowErg the drag factor is recalculated during each recovery when the power input is zero. On a BikeErg you don't have such zero-power periods, so it can't recalibrate itself. Doe...

Re: How to integrate HIIT into daily wworkouts
I try to workout 60 minutes a day. So in a week I average somewhere around 420 minutes total workout time, most of which is spent in aerobic zones and rarely exceeds 90% of my FTP. I am experimenting, however, with integrating High Intensity Intervals into the total weekly workout minutes. For exam...

Re: Sprinting During Aerobic Workouts
75% of my BikeErg workouts are this format. Steady state interspersed with various sprints. I highly recommend them!

Re: Setting Monitor - Advice Please - Power Training
Can't set less than 20 seconds / 100m on the regular PM3/4/5 monitor, but if you download an App called ErgZone and link it to the PM through Bluetooth then you can get it to do things the PM doesn't ordinarily allow. I know this includes 50m reps, and I think it includes 10 second reps. You can get...

Re: Need lower drag factor
Yeah, lowest drag on the newer models is Df 33 but best and easiest way to reduce it further is with a towel covering all of the flywheel to block off all airflow into it. This’ll distort the readings you see on the PM5 and make them super fast but allow you to ride against virtually no resistance.

Re: BikeErg PB Thread.
Casey, wow that's very impressive, especially your 4k and being 3rd overall. Do you feel your workouts on August 9th and 12th helped you prepare for the 4k? Did you have a history of racing on the bicycle outdoors before training on the Bikeerg? Thanks John. They would've helped a bit, but I train ...

Re: BikeErg PB Thread.
Well done on your PB, John! Two PB's for me yesterday. Can't remember the last time I did that. 8:30am 6:04.3 / 4000 / 1:31.0 / 98 1:29.1 / 1000 / 100 1:31.5 / 2000 / 98 1:33.4 / 3000 / 96 1:30.4 / 4000 / 99 PB by 0.6 secs. Drag at 103. Top of the rankings for 40/49 and third overall. 5:30pm 32:54.6...

Yesterday’s 10x3:00/1:00r (Df 155)
30:00 / 18601m / 1:36.7 / 80
Started at 1:37.7 and gradually neg split with a 1:34.9 fast last.
Must figure out how to put photos here as would rather not type it out manually.

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Good CTC so far but it’s leading to a fair few input errors. People are inputting their slightly faster /500m pace from the right hand column of the PM instead of the 505m pace from the left column. Typically there’s anything between 0.8 and 1.2 difference between the two depending on the pace range...

Re: Resistance
No. No chance. It doesn't go that high. You'd have to be seriously weak to have to stop after 30-45 seconds, even on max drag.

Re: Resistance
Hello,I'm looking for some guidance selecting an exercise bike for my home gym. My son wants the Concept2 BikeErg while I was leaning toward the Bowflex C6/Schwinn IC4. I am not a bicyclist. I want the bike for some cardio conditioning and I also like to use a stationary bike to build hypertrophy i...
