Re: Advice for accelerating faster?

No goal RPM on a 200m. You can really only get a fast first 100m with a very high resistance, so it’s really just a case of ragging it as hard as you can off the start. My 1:11.5 PB is 1:14.0 for the first 100m and 1:09.0 for the 2nd. RPMs were 90 & 105 respectively for each 100m. With regard to any...

Re: Advice for accelerating faster?

Hey all, I feel this may be a stupid question, as the answer to accelerating faster is likely "pedal harder/faster" / "get strong/more fit" but I was just wondering if anyone had helpful advice for maybe something like a mental cue or body positioning that could help get the flywheel moving in the ...

Re: Setting drag factor

So could somebody do a recalibration with the drag on high then cover the opening and break all the bikeerg records? Pretty sure I’ve already seen a case where this happened in the Facebook BikeErg group, although they never admitted to it. Either that or they calibrated first, set it to high drag,...

Re: Bike Erg v Wattbike

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. I am on the lookout for a new exercise bike and have had my eye on the wattbike for quite some time but with the launch of the new bike erg I am now not sure what bike to go for, I must say i am thoroughly impressed with C2 as a company and a huge fan of the rowe...

Re: Random spikes in SPM on PM5

DBate,

Haven’t had this on my SkiErg yet, but we recently had it on the gym PM5s on the rowers. After I changed the batteries it then stopped doing it.

Re: Setting drag factor

I have a SkiErg and when I wrap a towel around it I can get it from its lowest drag of around 60, down to about 40. Assuming you can do the same on the BikeErg, but won't actuallly know until someone tests it. They aren't available here in Europe until next year, otherwise I would've already tried. ...

Re: Setting drag factor

I'm very interested in this bike however I'm a little concerned about what I am seeing regarding the level of difficulty at the lowest drag setting. It is important to be able to spin at about 80 RPM and it sounds like it could be a problem to do for long periods. This bike would be used by both me...

Re: Setting drag factor

The minimum drag is a bit stiff. I was spinning 90 rpm the other night at around 240 watts with the damper set around 2.2. I was wondering if i was the only one who thought that was a little heavy. Lol, obviously not as I've mentioned this earlier in the thread. It's way too heavy, imo. Think they'...

Re: Setting drag factor

dr3do, yeah I thought the same thing about using my SkiErg plate over the front of the flywheel to cut off more of the air flow. I don't like being forced down into having to pedal at 75 - 80rpm when I'd rather be spinning along at 90+ for some of my easy sessions. Top end is definitely sufficiently...

Re: Setting drag factor

Just reading some of the posts in the Facebook BikeErg group and it seems that at minimum drag it's a fair bit stiffer than most other indoor bikes at their lowest setting! So much so that 98rpm puts out 271 watts on a 1 damper (around 60 drag apparently) That's exceptionally high for a bottom resis...

Re: Setting drag factor

Thanks carl, I know about drag on the rower, was wondering if it was meant to be "the same" for the bike erg. Is 110-130 still considered normal on the bike or is there another range? That type of question and considering the bike erg is so new, all the drag factor posts on the forum are specifical...

Re: New kid on the block - BikeErg

Would expect 30 sec peak power above 1.000 watts. This is at least what is seen by pro cyclist and speedskaters. Btw interesting discussion on Slowtwitch (triathlon forum) about the BikeErg http://forum.slowtwitch.com/forum/?post=last-6398922#last Specially jow the power is calculated on the bikeer...

Re: New kid on the block - BikeErg

Rankings are on for the bike..... Not much to see, but a lot faster thats for sure. They sure are a lot faster but not as fast as I was hoping for! We have several scores in the 500m rankings, ranging from 40 secs to 45, and a fastest 1km so far or 1:35. Not sure if you've ever used a Wattbike (?) ...

Re: New kid on the block - BikeErg

Ski is not that much slower, most people don,t train much on them. It's in the ball park of between 6 and 10.0/500m pace slower than the rower at world record level. 1:10.5 v 1:17.7 (500m) 1:24.1 v 1:33.6 (2000m) 1:33.2 v 1:40.4 (10000m) But yeah, there aren't that many great athletes trying to be ...

Re: New kid on the block - BikeErg

I'm getting one as soon as they're available in the UK. Pace is displayed in /1000m instead of /500m on the erg and ski. Not sure if it also has mph or kph. I think in watts when I'm on a static bike, so would most likely do sessions with the display on that anyway. If it's calibrated with similar n...
