Re: what does good look like? Bike ERG

thanks, what would is the typical damper setting that people use? Damper 1-10 typically has a drag factor range of 40 - 230. Try not to think of it as you would do rowing. The damper / drag are similar to moving through the gears on a bike. So your power output (pace in /1000m) is a simple product ...

There are nine rankings distances/times for the BikeErg at the moment. Check those out for an idea of how you are doing. Join the Facebook page, if you haven’t already, for workout ideas.

Re: Spring VIII Series; Rowers Only?

It's a positive move by C2 to initiate this competition while most of us are stuck at home. https://www.concept2.com/news/2020-spring-viii-series?fbclid=IwAR1jd4FqPwV_ZPHzLKevap6l2gY2Ob3SmECTrUhSDfNFQsXHIweiHSj4p-A The description seems to point to the use of Rowing ergs only but no mention is made...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Agree. This absolutely needs to change over to a new challenge on April 1st. Keeping it stuck on March indefinitely is ridiculous. OK so right now it's a straight 2K. No bells, no whistles, no restrictions. Just row 2K and record a result. I won't be joining in. So my 185 CTCs is where my record en...

Re: Remove round fan plate in front of FlyWheel, makes workout intense.

It simply increases the drag range from 60-160 ish to about 90-240 with the plate off. Doesn't necessarily make it any more intense. You can still do intense sessions at low drag and easier sessions at higher drag if you want to. If you want really high drag (350-400) on the SkiErg then also remove ...

Re: BikeErg Newbie, 1st day

Hello, I own and luv both the Rower and SkiErg. They both have the same noise. But, the BikeErg seems more noisy. Is this normal? Is it because it recognizes the Damper setting, therefore it's noisier? Thanks for helping a newbie. Concept2 for life. I luv their products. I wish the seat could go lo...

Re: 10km time trail on bikeerg watt bike etc

So if I’m hitting 13:13-13:30 for 10km and I’m 39 years old okay I’m 6,5 and 19st but I’m using a watt bike in the gym Wattbike scores are much faster than BikeErg scores for the same wattage I think 13:13 is around 340-350w from memory on a Wattbike. The equivalent on a BikeErg would be 1:41 to 1:...

Ha ha. What a ridiculous series of responses.

It’s a Concept 2 Logbook for logging your Concept 2 accumulated metres only. Any suggestion that you should be logging metres from an entirely different machine from a C2 just need to be completely disregarded.

When you stand up and pedal flat out for hiit the damper shifts and goes to easy setting making it useless for hiit.
Can't you just put a piece of duct tape on the lever?
It doesn’t. Ignore this comment. Either a one off defective model or just somebody trolling a negative review.

Are all of the New Bike Ergs equipped with this new flywheel?
As far as I know, yes! So drag ranges will typically be Df 40-240, rather than 50-210 in the older models.

I also don't know about the comparison at the high end.

I've heard some reviewers say that it is not high enough for low RPM high wattage training.
Depends what you would call low RPM high wattage. Max drag of 232 on mine I get 420w+ from about 73-74rpm.
