Re: Bike Erg Noise

It’s a common issue that has affected many, many BikeErgs all over the world. I’ve been unlucky enough to have had this multiple times and I’ve had 4 or 5 full front end replacements sent out to me. You can try greasing pedals / tightening screws etc, but if it still makes a noise then insist on a f...

Re: Handlebar vibration issues

Haven’t ever noticed this. Is the floor below perfectly flat? Is the up/down and back/forth on the handlebars tightened up properly? It can vibrate if they aren’t.

I wrap the handlebars with towels and ride resting down on my forearms. It’s a pretty comfy position and you won’t feel any vibration.

Re: BikeErg v. Wattbike

Anyone else done a comparison between the BikeErg and WattBike? My best for 30min on BikeErg is 15600 or thereabouts. Did a 30min session on my son’s WattBike today and knocked out 17928m! This would suggest different calibration settings on these. I also haven’t done any training for 8 days so Obv...

Re: BikeErg Turbo Flywheel Retrofit

Interesting. I must have the new flywheel on my BikeErg then. I tested DF range and I think it was 42-223. When did they make the change? I think my bike was delivered to store in January of this year as there was a couple short workouts on the PM5 from then. Not sure exactly. Think the newer ones ...

Re: BikeErg Turbo Flywheel Retrofit

I recently picked up a BikeErg and was looking through Concept2's site for documents on maintenance and stumbled across this "Turbo Flywheel" retrofit document for the BikeErg. Did a quick search for the part number mentioned, it did not come up on shop.concept2.com. I didn't find any mention of th...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

If they can’t be contacted for any reason can the November team choose October’s?

Rather that than have Dougie’s default 2km.

Has anyone seen anything from AIRC for the October CTC?
Nope. Nothing on FB. I’m unsure who they even are. Do you have a contact name?

Re: Considering a Bikeerg - Questions

I rest my forearms down on the handlebars (wrapped in towels) for long periods of time on longer rides. Where do you put your hands, on the top tube? Why not use an aero bar with some pads? Hands are free to fiddle with the monitor. Forearms just resting on the bars, wrapped in towels. I had though...

Re: Rowing and Cycling Watts

I use both the Concept 2 BikeErg and the Rower on a regular basis. I'm close to my best on the BikeErg, but my best rowing days were a few years ago. I'm quite well balanced between sprinting and endurance. Peak power on the BikeErg is around 1:07 / 1150w. Peak rowing power is lower at around 1:13 /...

Re: Bikeerg calibration and rankings

Based on the postings: #1- You calibrated on damper #10; #2- But you're now on damper #1 and therefore can easily go a higher RPM; #3- The Pm5 still calculates based on damper #10, and shows a faster pace due to higher RPM. If #3 is wrong, and the drag factor makes no difference, then towels and/or...

Re: Bikeerg calibration and rankings

Regarding calibration on the Bikeerg: Also, videos like this one recommend actively changing the damper setting to make the pedaling much easier. dropping the damper will of course make pedalling easy but your power output will drop off if you don’t increase RPMs to compensate. Isn't power determin...

Re: Calibration and rankings

All too easy to trick the outputs on these unfortunately. If you drape a towel over the flywheel it significantly reduces the pedaling resistance (to almost nothing) but the drag factor stays the same. Max drag with a towel covering the flywheel makes it super easy to get below 1:00 pace (2000w+) a...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Hi All,

FYI:

OK Team... July’s ITC.

Row 7777m in whatever intervals you want, using 7 mins of rest throughout the session.

For example:
7x 1111m, 1:10r
4444m, 7r, 3333m
5000m, 5r, 2000m, 2r, 777m

Record total time rowed, without rests. Good luck!
