Re: Bikeerg no good for HIIT

Never heard of this issue mentioned in the Facebook group. I've visited the FB page several times and never see any messages there. Apparently joining the group is required, but I personally don't like FB and don't use it at all. Why not just post on here, or on Slowtwitch where everyone can partic...

Re: Bikeerg no good for HIIT

I stand for all my sprint sessions. And stand for sections of longer steady state rides when I need some butt relief. Never noticed any issues on any damper settings. I've used several different BE's. Never noticed any issues on those either. Never heard of this issue mentioned in the Facebook group...

Re: Weight adjustment

Yes, bigger advantages for heavier athletes on C2 machines. Consider somebody at 75kg needs to put out 4w/kg to push 300w, whereas somebody at 100kg only needs to put out 3w/kg for 300w. From general observation I would say the SkiErg benefits the most from extra body weight, followed by the Rower a...

Re: Bikeerg no good for HIIT

The 'Bikeerg no good for HIIT' title here is total nonsense. Probably something put up by a rival bike firm to discredit the BE. I regularly do sets of short sprints on my home BE without any issues and it is a top notch workout. If the damper is genuinely slipping back to 1 from 10 (never heard of ...

Re: Setting drag factor

All too easy to trick the outputs on these unfortunately. If you drape a towel over the flywheel it significantly reduces the pedaling resistance (to almost nothing) but the drag factor stays the same. Max drag with a towel covering the flywheel makes it super easy to get below 1:00 pace (2000w+) an...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Lots of overcomplicaton already by the look of things. The 400 total stroke count is only trackable if you’re using ErgData or some similar App. I would imagine less than 10% of people doing the challenge will bother with Apps. Only real way of making a rate capped challenge as close to fair as poss...

Re: Considering a Bikeerg - Questions

I've read the Bikeerg threads here, the one on Slowtwitch plus this review , and have a few questions. I've been using a standard road bike with a $75 trainer attachment for decades. which still works quite well. However, I'm considering the Bikeerg and hope to see lots of comments about how you mi...

Re: calibration issues

Hi there, hope everyone is enjoying their bike ergs and taking part in the holiday challenge! I have for the most part been very impressed with the bike and have really been using it a lot but have been having some issues with the bike displaying the wrong pace midway through a workout, for example...

Re: Advice for accelerating faster?

No goal RPM on a 200m. You can really only get a fast first 100m with a very high resistance, so it’s really just a case of ragging it as hard as you can off the start. My 1:11.5 PB is 1:14.0 for the first 100m and 1:09.0 for the 2nd. RPMs were 90 & 105 respectively for each 100m. With regard to any...

Re: Advice for accelerating faster?

Hey all, I feel this may be a stupid question, as the answer to accelerating faster is likely "pedal harder/faster" / "get strong/more fit" but I was just wondering if anyone had helpful advice for maybe something like a mental cue or body positioning that could help get the flywheel moving in the ...

Re: Setting drag factor

So could somebody do a recalibration with the drag on high then cover the opening and break all the bikeerg records? Pretty sure I’ve already seen a case where this happened in the Facebook BikeErg group, although they never admitted to it. Either that or they calibrated first, set it to high drag,...

Re: Bike Erg v Wattbike

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. I am on the lookout for a new exercise bike and have had my eye on the wattbike for quite some time but with the launch of the new bike erg I am now not sure what bike to go for, I must say i am thoroughly impressed with C2 as a company and a huge fan of the rowe...

Re: Random spikes in SPM on PM5

DBate,

Haven’t had this on my SkiErg yet, but we recently had it on the gym PM5s on the rowers. After I changed the batteries it then stopped doing it.

Re: Setting drag factor

I have a SkiErg and when I wrap a towel around it I can get it from its lowest drag of around 60, down to about 40. Assuming you can do the same on the BikeErg, but won't actuallly know until someone tests it. They aren't available here in Europe until next year, otherwise I would've already tried. ...

Re: Setting drag factor

I'm very interested in this bike however I'm a little concerned about what I am seeing regarding the level of difficulty at the lowest drag setting. It is important to be able to spin at about 80 RPM and it sounds like it could be a problem to do for long periods. This bike would be used by both me...
