Re: Rowing and Cycling Watts

I use both the Concept 2 BikeErg and the Rower on a regular basis. I'm close to my best on the BikeErg, but my best rowing days were a few years ago. I'm quite well balanced between sprinting and endurance. Peak power on the BikeErg is around 1:07 / 1150w. Peak rowing power is lower at around 1:13 /...

Re: Bikeerg calibration and rankings

Based on the postings: #1- You calibrated on damper #10; #2- But you're now on damper #1 and therefore can easily go a higher RPM; #3- The Pm5 still calculates based on damper #10, and shows a faster pace due to higher RPM. If #3 is wrong, and the drag factor makes no difference, then towels and/or...

Re: Bikeerg calibration and rankings

Regarding calibration on the Bikeerg: Also, videos like this one recommend actively changing the damper setting to make the pedaling much easier. dropping the damper will of course make pedalling easy but your power output will drop off if you don’t increase RPMs to compensate. Isn't power determin...

Re: Calibration and rankings

All too easy to trick the outputs on these unfortunately. If you drape a towel over the flywheel it significantly reduces the pedaling resistance (to almost nothing) but the drag factor stays the same. Max drag with a towel covering the flywheel makes it super easy to get below 1:00 pace (2000w+) a...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Hi All,

FYI:

OK Team... July’s ITC.

Row 7777m in whatever intervals you want, using 7 mins of rest throughout the session.

For example:
7x 1111m, 1:10r
4444m, 7r, 3333m
5000m, 5r, 2000m, 2r, 777m

Record total time rowed, without rests. Good luck!

Re: IndoorRower to SkyErg

Looking at the rower it seems to maybe be converted to a sky erg. Wondering if any body has attempt the project... Not quite sure what you mean, but I'm going to assume you mean stand the rower up vertically against a wall and then use it as you would a SkiErg by pulling down on the handle? Seen a ...

Re: BikeErg - How accurate and precise

There are dozens of power meters out there on the market, so I think if you're going to compare BE accuracy to a PM then you need to compare to a specific power meter, rather than just say 'power meters' in general. I've used half a dozen different BikeErgs and they all perform exactly the same in t...

Re: BikeErg Ranked Workouts

Hello, I have just purchased a BikeErg and have completed a couple of workouts (awesome product by the way!). Any thoughts if it might it be possible to add a 10 km distance to the ranked workout list? It seems to be an awfully big gap between 4km and 40km ... A 10km would map well with the 5km row...

Re: Weight adjustment

If Concept 2 what to do something really useful then please setup ONE Challenge a year that is for verified results only, I have been requesting this for 5 years. The inaugural BikeErg World Sprints (July 3rd-7th) will be for verified results only. They should also do the same for the row and ski v...

Re: BikeErg and CTC?

I created a CTC BikeErg team about a year ago. You'll see it if you look in the drop down list when you register a new profile on the website. At the time I jokingly floated the idea of its inclusion in the CTC, knowing that it's my strongest piece of equipment and I would get near the top of the bo...

Re: Clicking noise from pedal area/ internals

Hi All, I have noticed a clicking noise coming from my Bike Erg within the pedal chamber, happens more when pedals are turned slowly but still happens in normal use but less. Haven't had the bike long, maybe 3 weeks with a fair amount of use in that time 1-2h per day, probably 1h per day on average...

Have BW Rowing announced anything about the May CTC on the Faceborg?
If I don't know by next Wednesday the May CTC will be a straight un-restricted 2K.
Not yet. I'll message them to ask.

Re: 200m whattbike

IS this the same on the pro whattbike , I got up to 48 mph on a gym bike was just wondering if this is a good speed to get to The only difference between Wattbike Trainer and Pro is the Pro is geared more stiffly. You can't compare mph on one random gym bike to another. You need to look at watts an...

Re: 200m whattbike

No. It's modest. The top guys are sub 10 seconds for 200m on the Wattbike. I've done around 10.3 myself.

I saw a Martyn Wilson had added a 12.2 to the Concept 2 BikeErg rankings a few days ago. Was this you? Wattbike 200s are far faster than BikeErg 200s. The rankings are for BikeErg only.
