Re: Rowing after aortic valve replacement.
Was released to start rowing yesterday. I’ll start slowly, of course. But today’s 20 mins. were very smooth and easy. Anyone who is interested in details about my TAVR let me know. I’ll let you know what I know.

Re: Rowing after aortic valve replacement.
Thanks for your thought. Of course, I’ll be guided by my surgeon. I was (and am) asking for others experience on recovery as it relates to rowing. There are websites dedicated to TAVR and recovery from it. However, given its nature as a very physical exercise regimen and relative rarity, there are v...

Rowing after aortic valve replacement.
I’m scheduled to have TAVR (aortic valve replacement through an artery, not through the sternum thankfully). If you have had this kind of surgery, how long was your recovery? How long before you returned to your Concept2 ergo? I want to get back to rowing ASAP without getting back into trouble, of c...

Re: Things you figure out because of rowing
Sorry it took so long to reply. I read from a Kindle app on my IPad so page turning occurs with the flick of a finger. You do have to be a little careful not to hit the page too hard or you go into an “edit settings” mode. But with practice, you figure it out. I prop the IPad up on a book stand I st...

Special Workout Today
It was a particularly notable row today, but boy was it a perfect row. It wasn’t a special milestone date spent on my rower. It wasn’t a record time or distance. It was just another day rowing away for an hour or so. But it’s ordinariness was so very special in a curious day. When it was over, I rea...

Things you figure out because of rowing
I recently figured out I could read when I rowed. It is a heck of a lot more fun for me than watching some inane TV rerun or even a good mini-series (like the Sopranos or GOT, even). So I open a good book on my IPad, find a good classical playlist, and start rowing. As for what I have learned as a r...

Visiting California. Help!!!
We will be visiting our son in the Ventura/Oxnard area in early Sept for 10 days. I understand the normal outlets for Concept2 rowing (gyms, health clubs, etc) are closed during COVid. Does anyone have ideas for a totally addicted rowing type so I won’t experience withdrawal for those ten days?
