Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Wow, that's a great effort Rod, congrats on topping the charts too! If you still fancy a row session one weekend let me know. Thanks Winnie, we left it that you would come back to me about a date you'd be able to make so let me know what's good for you and I'll see if I can do it. Early Saturday mo...

30 minute Time Trial Distance ..............8169 metres Average pace ........1:50.0 DF ......................115 Average SPM .........32 AHR ...................175 (Around 95% of max) I didn't quite improve my British 60-69 Lwt record of 8206 (1:49.6 pace) but that was set when at a peak just after...

Re: Dragon boater

Hi everyone, im not new to rowing as im a dragon boat paddler. Ive started training at home with my machine, im new to understanding the tension though, If the damper lever is on 4 (for example) on one machine it could have a very different level of resistance to 4 on another as they all vary depen...

Re: First 5,000m

22m44.9s. Dampener setting was at 10. The dampener of 10 seem to be the best resistance for me and my body weight. I’m 6’7” and 125kg. Anything lower feels like I’m going to quick and I If the machine you are using is dust free then 10 is way too high for anyone....you need to understand drag facto...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

5k Time trial Time .............18:19.6 AV.Pace ..........1:49.9 DF .................112 AHR ..............172 (around 93% of max) A little too cautious to start and finished with way too much energy. Happy enough with it though as I've been doing 'base/endurance' work at low rate and not much at t...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Early morning row today and I had intended to go for 60' in search of 15k but after 40' I was done for despite being on target....avg 1:59.1....dissapointed but still a decent effort. Bravado made me think I could bang out 15k in 60' and then reality kicked me a bit. Rough with the smooth and all t...

What proteines do you use for rowing?
How much are you getting from the food you normally eat?

I get over 2g per kilo of bodyweight from mine so no need for any supplements.

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

best of luck Rod with your new challenges Thank you Lindsay that's kind of you to say, it's gone pretty well so far and I'm enjoying it. There's less ''blasting away'' than I used to do, more a gradual build up with a good base being worked on at the moment so hopefully no more ''burn out'' which I...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Wow - Rod Chinn has "defected" from Sub7 to MAD - there must be a back story to that!! Ouch saw that to. Sort of Brexit inside the uk :D He's created a new ID "Rod Chinn." so I've editted that to "Rod Chinn (MAD)". The defection is probably documented on the Faceborgs website. Thank you for the int...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Curious, do we know what the July challenge will be yet? Even more curiously I was just about to post that same question. If DLC Gidea Park don't shout out by Sunday it will be a straight simple unrestricted 2K. On the 13th of June Joe Keating posted this on the CTC fb page; ''DLC Gidea Park have l...
