Re: Childish behavier.

Thanks all, but don't just post here if you want it to change, e-mail Concept 2 as well and make it happen.

Re: Trouble Shooting Pm2± monitor

Ok first up it doesnt matter if that screw between the lower two battery terminals short its already shorted without the screw. The two batteries are in series you need a short to get 3V across the top 2 terminals for the monitor to work. You need a good understanding of electronics to repair these ...

Re: Cannot see verification code anywhere

Easier to use the Concept 2 utility to ready the memory of the PM5 and upload it that way to your Online LogBook.

The best verification system by far now is using the ErgData App if you have a PM5. This also uploads the most information over anything else.

Re: Loose foot straps

You double tuck the standard concept 2 footstraps and they never move. The loose strap goes back over and through the buckle again. Also much tidier. Yes makes it harder to adjust but its set amd forget if your the only one using the rower. Leave your shoes on the rower as well. Dont use shoes with ...

Re: Childish behavier.

Accumulated metre challenges are far harder to police. I wouldn’t mind at all if they were verified only metres, but then what’s to stop me flicking through the memory on the gym rower and stealing everyone else’s rows to add to my own?! Nothing but like I said if you have a totally open LogBook it...

Re: Childish behavier.

Some of you guys hung up on your rankings position cannot see the bigger picture, had I not changed my profile to make a point about the Challenges, none of you would have been able to even question my results. The whole point of this is to draw attention to fixing the Challenges by the introduction...

Re: Childish behavier.

Sorry guys but I did actually have to row this to get the results. Yes I did this to make a point because just chatting on here for years has been a waste of time. I simply exploited vulnerabilities in the system and using electronics knowledge and 10 years of repairing the monitors as well as being...

Re: Childish behavier.

Don't waste your time posting here, e-mail Concept 2 and get the Challenges sorted. In case you have not noticed, the rows are verified so who's to argue they never happened ? Seems its okay to do a Challenge and claim your rowing hundreds of Km's a day without proving you rowed a single meter but y...

Re: PM3 flywheel sensor cable input issues

Yes its repairable if your good with a soldering iron or your in the UK or New Zealand but to my knowledge there is not a single person in the USA who repairs them, which is a shame because it would be a full time job for several people over there. Parts like the molded 90 degree 2.5mm stereo cable ...

Re: Wanted: Concept2 PM3 or later monitor

Did you use silver oxide and not alkaline batteries ?

Did you reset it as per the label on the side of it ?

Silver oxide batteries give a way better screen contrast and for longer due to their Voltage discharge characteristics and higher initial Voltage.

Re: I found my holy grail

I think most people start out on the rower with good intentions but I have to be honest, it got pretty boring after 6 months. Yes its great while your fitness improves but sooner or later you plateau and the motivation goes right out of it. The good news for me is when RowPro arrived on the scene as...

Re: Navy Considering 2k as Cardio Alternative for PRT

Typically they use running over here. I guess its for several reasons like you can train for it with only a pair of shoes and there is no technique to it as such because it should just be a natural exercise. Would have loved the erg as the test myself as I hated running. The Police physical requirem...

Re: Running to race pace conversion

I dont think there is such a thing. For some people running is far easier than rowing and others like me the rowing is far easier than running. Even when I was in my 20's a 10k run took 60minutes and killed me but now in my 50's a 10k row can be done no problem in 42minutes. You can probably come up...

Re: PM5 issue on a Model C

The Model C Tach pickup sensor is just a coil of enamel wire and it should measure 105 Ohms (+/- 5 Ohms) If it measures 2 Ohms then its a problem. There are 3 magnets in the Flywheel for it to function properly. Its possible for the monitor to "Turn on" if only one of these are working but it will n...

Re: Trouble Shooting Pm2± monitor

Use the search feature on this forum there are already plenty of posts as to the common problems with the PM2. I have been repairing them now for over 10 years, there is a couple of common faults unless the corrosion is really bad and the board has lost copper tracks all over the place, in which cas...
