Re: Bogus Time in Rankings

Maybe adding fuel to the fire but I happened upon the annual metres section of the C2 site. Has someone genuinely rowed an average of 83,000 metres every day for 340 days? I am impressed with ‘our Stu’ rowing 20-30k every day but that pales against someone rowing over 2 marathons each and every day...

Re: Bogus Time in Rankings

Zwift has a similar issue. People tooling around a over 5 watts/kg endlessly. Or setting some ridiculous sprint times. This of course is done by those that are not using any type of power meter. But yet these obviously unrealistic times are allowed to get the "jacket award". Zwift on the bike has f...

Re: RowPro Replacement

You really don't need some software to come up with a training plan for you to hit your goals. RowPro just got a get out of jail free card now that Zwift has dropped out of the race. RowPro would have been miles ahead by now had they had both an iOS and Android version out for your phone within a ye...

Re: Rowing speed vs running speed

I'm totally the wrong build for any form of running.

My 10K rowing time, even without killing myself at age 54 is way faster than I could run it even at age 20.

Re: Cannot reach PM5 when seated

There are two possible options. 1. Your arms have got shorter. 2. Your flexibility has decreased. Its not that easy but I can hit buttons while rowing at sub 20spm. Usually you just setup and row then strap in so you don't need to press any buttons during the row itself. I had a 30min session that s...

Re: Rower slides during training

Yes generally poor technique but they still tend to move at very fast paces and ratings.

Mine sits on garage carpet (glued to the concrete floor) which I think must be about the best option short of bolting it to the floor. It never moves.

Re: RowPro weight class sync to c2 logbook

RowPro does glitch now and again. I went through a season or 2 where it kept coming up that I was using slides.

Not had the HWT/LWT issue however in my results for a long time, there must be a field that needs changing.

Re: PM5 battery leak cleaned corrosion not working

Its dead buy a new one. You probably have the first version of the PM5 made, its now up to revision 3. Never use cheap batteries in the Concept 2 monitors, its a false economy. The batteries leak and write off your monitor. I would recommend using either Duracell or Energizer batteries and even thes...

Re: Wife doesn't feel any leg benefit

What pace is she rowing at ?

Its all relative to pace at the end of the day. Rowing is about 60% legs, 25% arms and 15% back from memory so it has to impact the legs.

Re: Bogus Time in Rankings

Concept 2 manufactures quality fitness equipment, maintains inventory on even discontinued models & provides unrivalled customer service. Why they are less than rigorous in maintaining the validity of their ranking system, is a question only they can answer. I think the fundamental reason is that s...

Re: Bogus Time in Rankings

You guys are still kind of missing the point in needing a more robust verification system. I'm not asking concept 2 to create one, it ALREADY exists and they are not using it to its full potential. I surprised people out there still don't get it. I guess you have to have been servicing the monitors ...

Re: RowPro Replacement

Mac is going to be even worse. Every time I use apple products I want to hit them with a large hammer. Android would be a better platform on your phone. It takes years to jump to the next OS and by then you probably have a new phone anyway. I notice the newer phones are allowing you to jump from 10 ...

Re: Bogus Time in Rankings

I would love to elaborate on the current weakness of the verification system is, but a public forum is not the place to do it. People need to think for themselves what makes a system more robust and trustworthy. There is simply not enough data or public visibility of the row in question to come to ...

Re: RowPro Replacement

for online rowing RowPro suits my needs. More issues though lately, online and offline. Offline rowing with past rows is impossible with softer crash at the start of the row. Nice, and have it for over 16 years but if something else shows up that works beter I might change. Not EXR in any case. I d...
