Re: 2k Based on 8 by 500m

Cheers, to get used to a higher stroke rate you need to 'ingrain' it in muscle memory. That's a fancy term for "the ability to reproduce a particular movement without conscious thought, acquired as a result of frequent repetition of that movement." Or more simply, doing it repetitively until you no...

Re: 2k Based on 8 by 500m

Thanks again Lindsay and Tom. When and if possible, you got any ideas how I best incerase my stroke rate? My thoughts are tonnes of 2:05 - 15 work and real slowly over a few months increase stroke rate until stroke rate naturally increases with increasing speed at same effort level and every 7 days ...

Re: 2k Based on 8 by 500m

Hi
I am doing a 2k test on Friday. My personal best is 7:48,7.
Did a 4* 1000 m (5) at 1:56,1 today with neg splits comfortably.
Anyone with any ideas what pace I should hold the first 1700 meters? Does 1:58-59 seem to conservative?
Thanks, Magnus McKenzie

Re: Pete Plan 2017

Nice to read about the great training going on and too bad about the injuries. I have had a few days with slow steady state at 2:20 - 30 and today I got ready to do 16*250 m (1:30) I am on PP W06 and my target was 1:50 - 52. I am quite pleased about negative splits and coming in at 1:50,3 and SR 30 ...

Re: Pete Plan 2017

Good morning folks Currently I am on PP and getting some start up help from Pete which helps a lot. From beginning of March I will start BPP w9d1 :o I often put great, and sometimes unrealistic, goals for myself, and this time my target is a sub 7 before February 2018. I did SS yesterday and suddenl...

Re: Pete Plan 2017

It's better when you understand what plan everyone is doing and especially if there are people rowing similar times as it gives you a little extra push.

Thanks, I am on Pete's Plan, week 5 and day 6. I have 6 sessions per week. How would I address that in my opening -do you know? Thanks again.

Re: Pete Plan 2017

Had a great weekend and lots of really slow ss and put in 5*750 m (3:30) this morning @ 1:57,1 with neg splits and SR 29. Happy with that and felt I found rythme easily as I did a proper warm up with 4*4 min (1) and 7-10 bursts at 3 min increasing my splits down to 1:55/56/57 After my warm up I had ...

Re: Pete Plan 2017

I love this polarization. Just to clarify, The Pete Plan is many things but it is not a polarized plan as that term is generally understood. A polarized training plan comprises 80% low-intensity; 0% medium-intensity; 20% high-intensity. In the early stages of a polarized plan high intensity work ma...

Re: Pete Plan 2017

Hi folks

It is really motivating to read all your PB and training.

Week 5 Day 4
This morning I did 4*2000 (5) at 2:04,4 down 0.5 seconds at SR 28. Had neg splits which I am really pleased about. This weekend is SS and Monday back to 16*250 m (1:30). I love this polarization.

Have a good one!

Re: Pete Plan 2017

Hi and Happy New Year I am one month into PP, started rowing last Aug/ Sept, and must say I am impressed following threads and pb times people are posting. I just did my 8*500 m (2:30) with neg splits at avg split time 1:54,1 at SR 29. I do the 5*1500 m (5:00) with neg splits at avg split time 2:03,...
