Re: For those who use the skierg regularly, what results have you seen?

I like the SkiERg much better. Have a hernia and can't use the rower anymore. I have gained a lot of upper body strength and cardio has really improved. I do 5k every day. Intervals, sprints, etc. Also do upper body weight training. I'm 75 and in better shape that most 50 year olds at my gym.

Re: Skierg pb thread

Music really helps me. I've been listening to a lot of Machine Gun Kelly and Angus and Julia Stone (Aussie brother and sister). Get some really good quality Bluetooth head phones and it really puts you in a zone.

Re: Weight equivalent on pull down

Well, I modified my daily routines due to some good guidance here. I am now doing a 5K on alternate days, with 2X100m 25 lb medicine ball chest carries post. No weight training. On the other days I'm doing only a 3K with my normal weight workout. I think it will be more efficient. I also failed to m...

Re: Weight equivalent on pull down

Thank you all for the positive feedback. Heading to the gym, and plan on breaking up my routines a bit. I can't row anymore after over 20 years due to an inguinal hernia. I was lucky to have had the Skierg which I hated at first. I'm #1 in the US (70-79) now for the 1:00 sprint @249m. hjs..please do...

Re: Weight equivalent on pull down

That's a great question, and I was actually "fishing" to some degree for a correction or suggestion. The thing is, I feel great doing this routine daily, and have not missed more than a couple of days since March. No muscle pains or aches, sleep well, eat well, and have absolutely no ill effects. I ...

Re: Weight equivalent on pull down

I actually get a huge burn in both triceps with my daily workouts. I start with a 3K, then do about 1/2 hour on upper body machines, free weights, and then 2X100m 25 pound medicine ball carries at pec level. I finish it all off with a 1K sprint on the skierg. Do all this daily. I've lost 2 inches of...

Re: Weight equivalent on pull down

According to Concept2, the proper form does not bend near a much at the waist as a Good Morning at almost 90 degrees. I replicated the movement in the links with the triceps machine.

Re: Weight equivalent on pull down

Thanks, I will try that. Today I compared the pull weight with the triceps pull down cable machine. It feels like exactly 15 lbs.

Weight equivalent on pull down

This might seem like a stupid question, but yesterday during a 30 minute piece I thought of the above. Say the damper is set at 4, strokes per minute right at 40 for entire workout. That would equal 1200 total. That would seem like an appreciable amount of weight moved over 30 minutes. Basically lik...

Re: new to SkiErg

Thanks, you guys. I've got a short video on my iphone. I'll see if I can figure how to post it. I will concentrate on the shrugging and form. I did a 4K today, and don't feel badly at all.

Re: new to SkiErg

I am also new to the SkiErg after using the Concept2 rower for over 20 years. We got a new one at the gym, and I love the thing. I've been doing 3K pieces daily for about a month now, with varied intervals. Sprint 500, rest 500. Damper at about 4 and indicate DF about 85. Doing about 2:50 splits. (I...

Re: Sprint form variance

"How did you manage to rig up your seat strap? I've also found it good to get consistent 100m times, rather than slipping every 5th interval. My solution is just a thick and flat ocky strap that seems to be the perfect length, but it's annoying to attach." Sorry, I meant the foot straps. Never even ...
