PM3 versus PM4
I won't bore you all with the details of my search for a used erg, but suffice it to say, I am looking at buying a new one. Of course, that raises the question of which monitor to prioritize. I know about the additional features identified on the C2 website, so I don't need help with that. What I do...

Re: Erging at Home or Club?
I take it that everyone agrees that the erg is a good idea.

Erging at Home or Club?
Folks, I have been content to row at my rowing club and other communal facilities for the last few years. I am now ready to contemplate the dramatic step of buying a C2 erg for home. Here's my big reservation: one of the big benefits to rowing at the club is that I get out of the house. My wife and ...

Re: Consistency v. Two-a-days
It sounds like the voting is generally in favor of maximizing training volume, not necessarily consistency. That's actually kind of a relief. I'll see how that goes.

Consistency v. Two-a-days
I've got a crazy schedule these days, but I'm unwilling to let that be an excuse to lose all of my progress over the last year. In addition, I'm ambitious about competing in the 2014 CRASH-B (yes, I plan that far ahead). Thus, I'm faced with the following choice: how often do I work out? I can't wor...

Alternatives to HR-based training
Folks, I'm putting together my training calendar for the next 6 months and wanted to see if anyone was aware of substitutes for the typical HR-based training regimens. I've had a lot of trouble in the last year or so with the HR-based approach, principally because of several factors. For one, the te...

Has anyone actually managed to set up an account on RI recently? I can't seem to get through their signup process with any success.

Re: 1x Self-training
Things have been going pretty well this season so far. I'm still having trouble balancing at low speeds, though, and I think I'll have to devote a bit more energy to it than I have (I've been focusing on hands-level and pulling in at the right heights). I like the pause drill, although it gets fairl...

Re: 1x Self-training
A couple bits of feedback and another question. I figured out that my footstretchers were a bit too far forward, meaning that I was leaning too far into stern at the catch. This made my finish less stable and as I figured out how to keep my hand heights more consistent, I discovered that I was getti...

Whew, that is some technical information.

Re: 1x Self-training
Next question: are there any good resources that say where to release the stroke? I can't figure out biomechanically where I should be releasing.
BTW, the half-feathering is going really well.
