Heart Rate Monitor

I'm looking to buy a HR monitor for tracking SS on my PM5, the C2 website lists a few, which would be the best option?

Steady State for Noobs?

So on the Pete 5k Plan, it says do SS every other day. What are the steps I can take to setting up a steady state workout for a total noob? I understand that there is a whole 'step test' process, but for many that is a bit difficult to obtain. However, that seems to be the best way of determing SS s...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

The best 6ks are done at 30+ too. I personally row my 2ks at around a 29, but the bare minimum typically is 32. I'm working on getting that spm up to bring those splits down. What are you doing to bring the SPM up? Intervals? I need to focus at least one session a week on higher SPM. It's just not ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

25 just seems to be a natural rate for me, I seem to be able to do 25 fairly consistently. On the last rep it was creeping up to 26 a little bit as I was pushing a bit more. I'm a similar height to you, what sort of rate do you settle into? i just looked back a couple weeks ago (see below)... It lo...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Is the Peter Plan 5k plan much different than the 2k plan? Will I still be able to shed time while prepping for my 5k on my 2k?

Also, anyone have any experiencing paying for his coaching advice?

90 Days To Drop 6k

So I have roughly 90 days (start of june to end of august) to get my 6k time down. Any workout plans out there that would help me drop time specifcally off my 6k? (I assume any plan that gets me faster on the 6k would also help with 10k, 5k, and even 2k, but the focus would be a fast 6k). Would thin...

Re: Rowing at Higher Stroke Rates

Hi all, So I'm a highschool sophmore male lightweight rower and I've been trying unsuccessfully to row at higher rates comfortably. I'm perfectly fine at around a 24-26 - I' did a 30 min. yesterday with an average stroke rate of 24 and split of 1:53.0. However, once I start trying pieces like a 2k,...

Re: Rowing at Higher Stroke Rates

Check your power ratio for 500 and 5000. If it's less than 70% you need more endurance. Don't we all. In any case your 30' stroke is pretty hefty (10 W-min) for a LW (how light?) and probably increases moving from 24 to 28, so running out of steam is hardly unexpected. The bloke in stroke seat is t...

bbg olympia x? little river pro am elite 25?

Anybody have any experience with the bbg olympia x, or the little river pro am elite 25? I'm thinking of buying a single and they both seem like nice shells.

Help Choosing a Shell

Hi,

I'm trying to decide what type of shell to rent. What would be the biggest differences between a Peinert 26, and a Levator? Any advantages, and disadvantages?

Thanks,

How to get physically stronger?

Hi,

I want to be able to develop actual strength to be able to pull those low splits on an erg. What are some exercises I can do?
