Re: weight loss

To lose weight you need to row for longer and slower so it will be better to find a pace that means you don't stop at all. Going too fast will not efficiently burn fat so get comfortable with slower times, and when you reach your weight goals then you can speed it up Interesting. Everything I have ...

Calorie counters on PM5 vs Fitbit

Hey guys, I set a few goals for calorie/weight loss and just curious if any of you have use a fitbit when rowing to keep track of calories? I noticed the PM5 claims that I'm burning approximately 40% more calories for the same amount of rowing that the fitbit is. I would guess (hope) the PM5 is more...

20 min - 5199m

Trying the lower stroke rate with harder leg push...need to build up my chicken legs.

Re: Pete Plan 2017

Hi folks, Just started back on the rower in Dec (after watching my 13 year old daughter pick up a silver in the BRIC). I have begun to get a bit fitter and did a 2kTT yesterday and came in at 7-23.2 which improved on December's effort of 7-47. So I've dived into the Pete Plan with a 4 x2k 5min rest...

Re: Pete Plan 2017

BTW, kudos to everyone doing the regular Pete Plan. I am finding the lite version to be a challenge both mentally and physically. I guess the long rows will get easier and more acceptable the longer a person does it.

Re: Pete Plan 2017

2x2000m/4:00r

7:27.4 1:51.8 24spm
7:13.2 1:48.3 25spm

Thats second one was a grind. More of a mental challenge not knowing where you should be aiming for pace.

Re: Pete Plan 2017

Hello all! Just started the Pete Plane "Lite" in wintery Regina, SK.

Did my first 5k tonight - 18:34.6 at an average s/r of 22. Really concentrated on pushing hard with the legs and recovering on the way back.

Great thread btw...love reading how others are doing!

Anyone just starting the Pete Plan (Lunch hour version)

I am considering doing it. Always easier when you know someone else is as well.

Lemme know!

Re: Increasing my 2k in 10 weeks

Tried the 4x500 with 30sec rest.

1:45.3 30s/m
1:45.2 29s/m
1:48.7 29s/m
1:48.8 29s/m

I think I'll try the Pete Plan lunch hour version, as the general consensus is to get more meters in.
