Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Congrats on the 1k BR Rod, working through all the BR’s nicely. Any WR’s in your sights, I’m sure some must be on the radar? Mike, glad you owned up  and ‘just sub 7’ is still sub 7 mate ;-) Nice to see you’re still around Majorie IRL today, did have ‘something special’ to try for this to-day b...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Rod, I’m with the diamonds because they asked me, always ready to help out whoever needs it but no worries, cut me and I bleed ‘Sub 7’. :D Nice mile btw and yes I did notice I was top of the pile in the IRL although I don’t understand the Handicapping system. Gives Tiny Nash something to chase after...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

1609m for the Indoor rowers league done to-day. I had illusions of grandeur in trying to repeat my pacings that I did for the 4 minutes last month but wasn’t to be, came back down to earth but not with a big bump. Warmed up with a 5k fletcher starting at 205w then got to it. Pleased to get it done a...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Cheers for the congrats guys, yeah gradually working through them as it gives me a focus on the way to BRIC18. Makes me do some hard yards  CTC today for me. Looked at the usual suspects and picked a target of 330w for the 1st two intervals. Warmed up with the usual sub 7 2k then overdid it on ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Well I’m never one to break a sequence so here’s another British Record Mike. :D 60 minutes Mens Hwt 60-69 age group, I wanted to do something ‘hard and long’ today so took a peak at the 60 min BR and saw Nick Rockliff has set it at 16025m which is around 248w and figured that should be doable, so d...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

“ Forgive me father but it’s been yonks since my last confession….” Haven’t posted much this year, lack of motivation being the main reason but somehow I’ve managed to get out in the garage most days and get something done, that’s where making this sport a habit, pays dividends. I’ve been try...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Great stuff Rod with all the BR's you're setting at the moment, a great run of form that's coming from a lot of hard work mate. Hope the rehab is going ok TPK. Sub 7 ITC for me today, warmed up with a sub 7 2k. Thought I'd try and hold 400w for each and I did. More please with winning the mental bat...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Thought I'd drop in to say "Hi" as I might be getting some grumblings of some motivation coming back  Haven't really stopped erging all summer, fortunately the habit as been keeping me going but no structure, just slipped and slid along for 20 minutes or so most days coupled with the odd round ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

....... 4min from the Autumn and they have kindly recognised it as a new BR. I was tempted to keep schtum about it since otherwise I'll just bring it to the attention of the real fast people as an easy target for them, but that rather misses the point. For at least a few minutes I was a genuine Bri...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Managed to get all this months online 'race's ' done. Nearly missed the lot of them so needed to be a bit 'creative' to fit them in with 'normal' Marathon training  Sub 7 ITC 30R20, did this as the 1st interval of a 2x30' R3 with capped HR at 123. Then next day did the CTC as a warm up for a 2k...

Re: A Small Bit of CRASH-Bs 2018

.......... BIRC used to be big also, some 2,500 or so participants, and that too has fallen off quite a bit. It might even have disappeared for a while (the Brits can probably jump in here and straighten me out on that) and made a comeback as a smaller event. Hi Rick, you're not wrong. BIRC (Britis...

Re: wolverine plan, anyone?

I have in the past but now similar to Jamesg, level 4's and nearer a 2k race level 1 stuff but not religious about it. Good plan though and plenty written about it

Many congratulations Nav, cracking finish. Did'nt see the race as I got my timings wrong  Just managed to catch the end of Andy Benko's efforts though

Might see you next year as I turn 60 in March

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Thought I'd pop in to wish all who are at the World Champs the best of luck. Hope you all get what you've trained for. Haven't been posting for a few weeks, that's that New year resolution blown   . Still erging but lacking 'real' motivation to push on, although racking up plenty of metre...
