elbow pain
When I'm doing high pressure sprint pieces like 1k and 2k's, I get a severe pain on the inside of my elbow. It feels like my arm is getting ripped apart every stroke. What can I do to fix it. Is it an overuse injury, or a problem with my technique.

Re: Not sure what to do
Rowing involves a lot of muscular endurance not explosive strength, if you do a circuit style weight training you will get cardio benefit. If you don't have access to an erg the next best thing is biking. You can also do running and hiking, anything that works out the legs would help. Gaining weight...

Re: college recruitment
The reason i am asking this question is because I am 135 pounds, currently I am competing with many of the heavier lightweights. I am scared that when I get to college I won't be able to compete due to my size.

Re: summer workout
The reason I laid out my program like this is because last season our coach mad us do a lot of steady state and lifting, many times I would do more after practice, the opposite of what I did at practice. While doing this I dropped almost 20 seconds in 2 2k's. I am still experimenting, on a program b...

heart rate
When doing long distance cardio (10k or more) should try and do it all out or should you do it at around a 170 heart rate. Can you explain the pros and cons of both. Thanks!

Re: 2K progress
If i where you i would do three 10k's a week, while keeping your heart rate under 165. Supplement that with 5x500 with 2 min rest and 10x250 with 1 min rest. Finish that off with two lifting sessions. A good training split would look like Monday- 10k Tuesday- lifting and 10x250 Wednesday- off Thursd...

fast vs. slow hands away
All of my rowing career my coaches have taught me to get my hands away from my body quick during the recovery, and go up the slide slow. I agree with this and our team has been very successful using this. Now my summer rowing coach is telling me that I am getting my hands away to quickly, and that g...

Too many meters
My summer rowing team has us doing 30000 meters a day 5 times a week, most of this is on water at full pressure. With this amount of rowing can I still weight lift, and erg at home without having to worry about over training.
