Re: Pete Plan Thread

Good Day, Mike - its always a good feeling when those 3 days are done. Cycle 2/ Week 2/ Day 1 10k SS at 23spm and HR<140 = 2:07/500 Quite clear my body is tired as HR was almost impossible to control towards the end, it kept spiking to 150 and I needed to slow to around 2:11 to bring it back. Well, ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Thanks Mike, Personally, for me on a time trial starting above the required average is detrimental. I am more inclined to go too fast and then slow down in the 50-75% part. However, when I do just, "sit" on the needed average for the first part, it becomes increasingly easier mentally to finish at t...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Good Day, Honesty time. I added some cross training (Jui Jitsu) to my weekly routine thinking I was in shape enough to do it. I am not. However, I paid for the membership and I need to do it. I can do the 3 sprint days, but have had a really hard time keeping up with the steady state. I am going to ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Mike,
How do you break up your lifting with the PP? What does your weekly schedule look like?

Re: Pete Plan Thread

@nwb - glad to have you aboard. Something in 9 minutes is not too shabby for just starting out. Especially at the 2k, it is a distance that with practice on pacing alone will see the time drop significantly, but it is quite hard to not think you can push your butt hard the whole way. The Pete Plan i...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Bob,
Awesome start!! Glad to have another person on the plan. Really helps when we are all dealing with the same pain of progression.

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Good Day, Cycle 2/ Week 1/ Day 4 10k SS at 2:07 - HR stayed under 140. I am behind a session this week and I am trying to not let it bother me, but in the second cycle that is not a great sign. I have added some extra cross training and that took more of a tole than I thought it would. I think backi...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Tom and @hjs - Thank you for that feedback. I thought there was suppose to be a large distance between the two. I pushed 7930 about 4 months ago. Maybe part of it is I am just not use to R20? It feels so much harder (mentally especially, but also in my quads) than free rate where I can screw around ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Good Day, This is one of the more difficult mental rows I've been doing lately. Just plain not fun, but a very good training tool. Cycle 1/ Week 3/ Day 5 30R20 = 7172 An improvement of over 100m compared to last week. Shorter term goal is 7500, but that will probably mean I am over 8k open and that ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

@warnie - The world recorder is 31:05 by Eric Murray. So, yeah, meat head. You are doing the right thing. Anyone that comes up and says that kind of sxxt to someone is very insecure and really has no idea what he is doing. Most likely a steroid expert though.

What was your HR?
