Friday 25-7 Weekly HM. Steady but hard 2:08.5 pace until 17K, trying to hold on and maybe get under 90 minutes for the first time. The little devil on my left left shoulder was whispering in my ear that I should quit, because it was getting very uncomfortable. But I was focussed. Then my wife came ...

Wednesday 23-7, evening session

6K summer series on rowpro. Target 23.48.

Stayed under 2:00 until 3500, felt that I had already done 14K today and slowed down a bit. HR high thoughout the race (as usual). Finished in 24:15, 27 seconds over target but a still good workout.

Gerhard: Lately, you're rowing many meters. Do you find that the high volume is helping? It sounds as if your endurance is much stronger than it was during your last 8x500. I only do 3 or 4 sessions a week, between 40K and 50K per week. Total mileage is only slightly higher than last season, but ma...

11-7 Weekly HM, started out just under 2:11 @ 23 SPM and simply held on until 16K. Seating & blister problems made me take a short break (1 or 2 minutes) and I finished the piece at 2:18 (slow due to a blister on the right hand; no real fatigue). Final time 93.55, HR surprisingly low (15 BPM lower ...
