Re: Want to get into rowing. How do I start?

Go to a local gym and find a good PT to get you started or find a local rowing club

Re: Beta Alanine & Creatine Ethyl Ester

Try USN Crea X4 capsules it has creatine pyruvate in which a few companies are using instead of CEE as CEE has a poor uptake and results are pretty poor

Re: Preparing for my FIRST 6K, NEED TIPS AND HELP!

If i were you the best tip would be go t a local rowing club for some training tips, or go to a local gym and see a personal trainer for a programme, make sure you do some investigating on the PT first though, some are rubbish, but the rowing club would be my first port of call.

Re: Fluid Retention

If you have water retention try drinking more cold water between meals, as this will flush the fluid retention you have, do not use mineral water as these contain trace mineral salts which could make you hold more fluid.

Re: Shoulder surgery/Return to rowing

Yes, I would definitely advise the therapist if provided one after the operation, also I would see about getting referred to a Personal trainer via your GP as these are normally versed in rehabilitation

Re: Rowing and Cycling - Complementary?

As you have had spinal surgery I would get yourself a GP referral from your local GP practice, as they will refer you to a decent personal trainer who can guide you with your exercise program.

Re: Strokes Per Minute

You need to change your program as your body has adapted to your intensity, I would look at doin 4 to 6 weeks of high intensity interval training to increase your lactic acid threshold, look online for some good HIIT training on the rowing machine. After this program go back to your orignal one and ...

Re: Forearm and lower leg fatigue and tightness

Back in March, I was suffering from what I believe was exertional compartment syndrome, where my forearms would swell up and burn after a hard, all out sprint piece or interval on the erg (such as a 2k, 6x500m or 4x1.5k). They would feel very hard to the touch and would hurt for 25 minutes before f...

Re: Weight Loss & Performance

I would probably change your % of nutrients to 40% Carbs 40% Protein and 20% if you want to keep as much muscle as you can, I would also see a well known sports nutrionist in your area for a more detailed analysis

Re: Sore finger tendons

Try using a palm grip glove as this will give you a better grip without having to hold on to tightly, if this doesnt help try using a good joint strengthening supplement and use contrast baths of hot and cold treatment on to the afformentioned finger

Re: Midshaft Clavicle Fractures

Hi all, My guess is that there a lot of C2 owners / users who are also keen cyclists. And, that clavicle injuries in cyclists are likely pretty common? However I had reached the grand old age of 52 without breaking a bone in my body. That is, until a week last Friday. I was coming back from a quick ...

Re: Spine load while rowing

I would consult someone who is an expert concerning the physiological and biomechanical aspects of exercise. An orthopedic surgeon comes to mind but an exercise physiologist may be an even better choice. I would specifically look for someone who is familiar with the effects of rowing on the spine. ...
