sounds like overtraining which is easy to do at the start when fitness is still building and you push too hard too often First - is your MHR based on a formula or a trial to maximum - if it is based on 220-age or the like then it doesn't really mean anything You need to do a proper 100% trial to wor...

What is typically the lower end stroke rate for 2k racing? the fastest 2ks are done at sr>30 (higher for lwts). It takes focussed training to get faster stroke rates and better fitness to be able to sustain the higher ratings for 7 minutes. You have the potential therefore to get a much better 2k t...

welcome - great place to start Take it easy and go long and slow - it doesn't help to race your training make sure your technique is solid and learn to use drag factor (120-130) rather than damper setting (3-4) Spend a few hours reading this and looking at the links https://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic...

we had a real face to face race day here yesterday which was fun - only modest yet but worked well
three races about 30' apart
2k - 7:14.0 (first 1K 3:39 second 3:35)
1k - 3:28.2
500m - 1:35.2

then did the 5k again tonite @1:57.5 with terry who was @2:01.5
