Re: 10 vs 1

there is a huge difference between a damper setting of 10 and 1 on a new machine but possible none on a dirty second hand machine you need to get away from damper setting and get used to the drag factor which is the measure of resistance you need to use There is a lot of material that will help; the...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

WU, Clearly has a proven effect, the point is having all of your energysystem working fully from the start. Later in the day, you often need less, you already did some work one way or the other. The longer the row ofcourse the less important it becomes. Not doing a serious wu for a serious row is p...

Wow, you're number 1 @ CTC, you should register for a team (I would recommend the forum flyers :) Incredibly strong effort!
I agree with Martin - very strong and to make the most of it just join the Forum Flyers and bathe in the glory before the Ollie Zeidlers of this world hop in.

Re: Forum Flyers

well done everyone in this curious time. I am in the unusual position of being busier at work rather than quieter so it is harder for me to get the meters up. I also struggle to keep my training intensity up at home and much prefer the gym. I now have weights at home as well which is good as this ma...

Re: Newbie: Eating crisps (chips) and starting to row

Thanks - agreed that this will be tough. With 80% being around 120 I could be finished after my warm up.... I haven’t done much research on it so apologies for the question - are there no aerobic benefits in going above 80%? Cheers Well done so far. If you MHR is say 155 which is low but as you say...

Re: Looking to join a team ...

well done Jon - it is a great thing to do. I realised this morning that I was guilty of some over promising - the "all ages" thing is not really true - we are by and large a +50 group with some really strong younger ones at the top. Most young'uns are more attracted to the social media involved grou...

Re: Am I any good?

Welcome to the erg world - there is a really good new erger thread just above here which has really good links about technique, training and the like learn to think about drag factor rather than damper setting look at technique videos to get a good strong stroke from the start just start out doing s...

Re: Forum Flyers

Cynthia my guess is that if the PT says don't do it then best not to - you could only rank a full 3x session in any case
take it easy
