Re: ergdata crashes on iOS 9

The new app appears to be working. But this is where we need release notes on the new features (please publish!!!). My wife is rowing on our Model A w/PM5 10.30 beta right now and I had to find the settings in Apple Heath to turn on the ability for ErgData to write information to her HealthKit file ...

Re: ergdata crashes on iOS 9

Yup, crashed for me too. Turning off Bluetooth and going to USB is a pretty lousy workaround.

Re: Sleep Apnea vs. weight loss

Early September Update: My wife has now been at her weight loss journey for 20 weeks and doing exercise featuring rowing for 17 weeks of it and hiking for the last 12 weeks. As I said before, after the first 10 pounds or so her body began "fighting back" as it were with plateaus at various points ma...

Re: Sleep Apnea vs. weight loss

Great motivational story. I also have sleep apnea. It was much worse before I lost over a 100 pounds (45 kilos). I still have about another 120 pounds to lose and I hope my sleep apnea goes away then. I'm sure it will be better. I have plateaued about 4 months ago. For some reason I just stopped wo...

Re: Sleep Apnea vs. weight loss

2nd update: It's been another month. Most of it was a huge plateau for my wife so she spent a lot of time in the 21-23 lbs loss range. Needless to say it was very frustrating, despite my wife continuing to do better, faster, longer on our Model A. She's now rowing between 5000-6000 meters a session,...

Re: Sleep Apnea vs. weight loss

An update: My wife has been on her plan now for about 9 weeks. She's down about 22 lbs right now toward a total goal of 60. She's a bit frustrated at the pace now since it's slowed a bit since the first few weeks but she continues toward the right direction....a pound or two every now and then follo...

Sleep Apnea vs. weight loss

Yes, sleep apnea VS. weight loss...I phrased that specifically to share my wife's story and hope that it might give some clarity to persons struggling to lose weight on this forum. Nearly two years ago I posted on this forum about my wife's struggles with weight gain over the years and her many fail...

Re: End of an era: Upgrading the original PM1 on Model A

The big problem is that owners of the PM1 use the wrong battery. The Alkaline batteries do not work well and give poor screen contrast, even when new. You should only use silver oxide batteries in the PM1. They have a higher Voltage that is maintained over time and the PM1 is a very low drain devic...

End of an era: Upgrading the original PM1 on Model A

I haven't posted here in over a year. Back then my wife was looking to lose weight and get better in fitness and we decided to make use of the Model A that I had inherited from my brother (he's teaches middle school crew and has gone on to more up to date equipment). This Model A dates back to 1986 ...

Re: Rowing for Weight Loss

A update...my wife is nearing the end of 3 months on the vintage Model A rowing machine. But it's not been 3 solid consistent months. As stated earlier, we had a vacation week for July 4th where she did find a local Y and get in a couple of workouts. But the big setback was getting her hammer toe fi...

Re: Rowing for Weight Loss

An update on my wife's progress... She's now completed about 5 weeks of training, having started on 6/16/13. She's been pretty faithful to rowing 5 days a week, only dropping to 3 days a week during a recent vacation where she sought out a local YMCA which had a C2 rowing machine to get in her worko...

Re: Rowing for Weight Loss

My wife began rowing three weeks ago as an anchor exercise in her overall desire to reshape her body, lose weight and get back into proper cardio shape. Since she's female and she would kill me if I gave weight specifics to her situation, but I can say that she's 45 years old, 5'9" and I'd say she n...
