Re: Pete Plan Thread

Robert - you're progressing really fast. I'd consider doing this or next round as your last round, then considering another plan for the long term. Huge gains. You're closing in on my times fast and will soon likely pass me up! Hi Mike - thanks! Even though I think I have another PP round in me, I ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

2nd cycle of the Pete Plan PP 2.5 - hard distance - decided to go for a 10K PB...previous PB was 42:30 which was soft given I have a 7:26 2K score. Based on Paul's Law my recent 6K of 23:50 gave me a target 10K of 40:57....so I'm pleased with this result :) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Btw my name is Allan, I live in Norway, I am 193cm and weighs around 100kg (aiming for 93kg). My go to sport is Mountain Biking, I bought the Rower to keep my form from descending to much over the winter, although I must admit that I really like the rowing so far, it has really got me on the hook. ...

Re: Strength training vs Erging

hi guys, some familiar names here! I've been thinking about strength training - my main fun sport is mountain biking. Rowing is for fitness and - yes - I do enjoy it as well and it really has helped the aerobic fitness on the bike. I'm in my 2nd PP cycle and think I have a couple more cycles in me b...

Re: Expectations!

Hi all - interesting thread and good luck with everyone's efforts. I'm usually to be found over on the Pete Plan forum but I can see me running out of steam on that in about 6 weeks (2 more cycles) so might have a go at the interactive weight-loss program you guys are following. I've input my number...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

2nd cycle of the PP PP 2.3 - 4 x 2000m / 5min rest Previous average split from 11 October was 2:04.9 so I'm pleased with this improvement...don't feel like I'm hitting the buffers yet so might squeeze out a couple more cycles (4 in total) then do a 2K test https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600q...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

yeah 10K is about my limit these days - now that Ive "graduated" to the full Pete Plan I just do 10K for my steady distance rows as its easy to program on the PM being one of the standard distances

PP 1.5 hard distance - decided to go for a 6K PB

I aimed for a 1:59.3 split (based off my 5K 19:40 recent PB using Paul's Law)

success!

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Hi Bob
I’m the same with mountain biking which is my other sport. I try and get out for a ride every week. The rowing has been very complementary in terms of general fitness for riding. Also rowing is so much more convenient as I have a C2 in the garage. I’d never get out on the bike 5 days a week.

Re: Pete Plan Thread

I do all the PP sessions, but not necessarily in one week. So a week of PP might take me 1.5 or 2 weeks to complete. I think it’s important to do all the sessions particularly the steady distance. Balances out the hard distance and intervals.

Re: Pete Plan Thread

If you’re at 7:13 I would make the jump as your technique, fitness and strength are probably good enough. See what others think...they’ll be along soon

Re: Pete Plan Thread

and so begins my 2nd PP cycle...8 x 500m / 3min30 rest...previous average split was 1:57 (24th September). I noticed my DF was set lower this time at 116 vs 122 last time so I might up it a bit for these speed intervals. How many PP cycles are people doing before they test how they are progressing w...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

PP 3.5 - hard distance...decided to do a 30 min row for distance..previous best is 7154m but I misread my C2 logbook and thought it was 6963m so went a little too slow to get a PB...oh well a decent workout at 630am anyway...
