Re: Keto

Hi Josh

I did feel the restriction on fruit made it a no no for me too

But I did increase veggies ... So probably no loss there

Big problem was Mrs not following it too... And setting cake traps

I felt like shit too and training performance was compromised. But gradually improved

Re: Doubt about training intensity zone.

Max hr... N - age is utter nonsense.
My max and resting rate has changed little in the last 35 years
You need to establish your own and other parameters before you start defining your zones
Even then HR is not perfect... Far from it.
Use watts !

Re: How much does 2K time drop in off season?

Hi.
Apart from academically does it matter?

You've peaked for your 2k and now you are going through the cycle again. Lots of base km to build your aerobic base and increase your potential

Re: Rowing or Strength first in a given workout session?

My thoughts If the weights are to improve strength for rowing then weights first then row to get some specific 'carry over' I may warm up then do some weights and fit anaerobic alactate rows into a small circuit. My gym has the technogym skillrows which have magnetic resistance which can be utilised.

Re: Can you get Erectile Dysfunction similar to a bicycle seat?

Hi I suffered from numbness in the penis. This was brought on , I am convinced by spending hours on a wattbike (substitute any other trainer /turbo). The problem here I feel is that one is sat in one position for a long period. Out on the bike there is movement (even looking around slightly changes ...

Re: How to determine the appropriate HIIT ?

Hi

I assume you are trying a polarized program??

If you are aiming to maximise your aerobic capacity as opposed to anaerobic something that fall between your Vo2 max and anaerobic threshold would be of benefit... something between say your 10k pace and your 2k pace

Re: Polarized training 5k sessions

Just to emphasise that there are 3 zones in the polarized model as opposed to 5 or even 7 80% of sessions should be below Aerobic threshold... LT1/ AeT ... really easy!! 20% of sessions not time or distance aim should be above LT2/AnT 90/10 by distance/time is often advocated 2 things to consider Ae...

Re: Is this workout effective?

Hi. Do a bit of research into polarized training. And the benefits of base work, developing the aerobic system. Heart rate drift. Often the load is reduced to keep the hr capped. Whilst there are other factors it has been demonstrated that recovery occurs when the watts are reduced. Some of this dri...
