This time we need a female rower.

Re: Forum Flyers

Hi everyone. This is my first FTC and I was just going to try and make the 100k so I could buy a shirt or something. Well, I'm sitting at over 50k as of tonight so I needed to set a loftier goal. I need something like 6500 meters per day for the rest of the challenge to make 200k and I'm rowing betw...

Re: OK to row every day?

The "easy rows" you mention might make excellent active recovery sessions on those days your shoulder needs a break! The definition of "taking a break" is to stop doing something for a short period of time; to rest. An easy row still consists of using your shoulder muscles. If someone's shoulder ne...

Re: OK to row every day?

Hi -- Totally new to rowing. Got a Concept2 as a 50th birthday present. I'm a female in good health who would like to lose 10 pounds and firm up. Is it ok to row every day? I mostly do the WOD sent by Concept2. Usually the light or medium workout. But I definitely don't overexert myself. Intuitivel...

Re: Forum Flyers

2 of 25 in the books I row in the evening after my kids go to bed, I'll get day 2 done tonight. When I bought our rower a few weeks ago my goal was daily rowing so the Mud Madness Challenge is perfect! I came into the season quite late but I think I can make it to half a million meters before the r...

Re: Forum Flyers

@lhaymond: Just now checked Mud Season 5k/day. You’re in there now, buddy. I see my entry on the Honor Board, but there is no "affiliation". If I pull up my profile Forum Flyers is listed.... search by Forum Flyers, and you will see my entry does not show???? Have you gone to "Edit Profile" and sel...

Re: Forum Flyers

You lost me with 3 x 15 Jack... "Record the distance rowed for the slowest of your 15 minute rows" The use of the word "slowest" grammatically indicates there are at least three items. The post should have read "slower" as that indicates two. There was some jokery about it over in the CTC thread :)

Re: Forum Flyers

That time posted by your better half is amazing Mike. Did she pick up a tip or two by first watching you nearly collapse? :) She's an avid CrossFit junkie and since they use ergs pretty often she was no stranger to the drill. She's also in pretty primo condition and if you tell her that she is comp...

I am figuring in a little wiggle room in case I am up for a 5k a day or two early. But, yes, 6 days exactly. My surgery appointment is at 12 PM so I will be up early that day to get my meters in :D

Re: Forum Flyers

Anyone considering the Mud Challenge? I am planning on it. My schedule will be a bit silly, though. I am having surgery on the 16th and am planning for a week of no physical exertion. So in order to meet the challenge I have to row 5k, literally, every other day of the month. I have a feeling motiv...

Re: Forum Flyers

Lana did the challenge tonight so three up now. Once my wife gets her result in there will be four in the water :) My sister, wife, and I all did ours in the garage last night. We are all novice rowers and I expected it to be tough, but WOW. 400 meters into the second interval I and started to lose...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Since my crystal ball went offline in "The Great Crystal Ball Disaster of 1982", I'll need some more details like the username you've registered for your good lady. Interestingly, there was quite a bit of collateral damage from GCBD '82. I lost my favorite divining rod that day. Anyhow, her CTC use...
